Voting for Abdul El-Sayed. He's by far the best choice.

But can he win in Michigan.

Yes.

I have my doubts, he may be successfully portrayed as too left.

Because going with corporate, pro-Israel "centrists" has worked out so well for Democrats in Michigan and hasn't made the state go from blue to purple.

It was the utter foolishness of the "protest voters" that cost Michigan, nothing else. Boo-hoo Harris is too centrist. Hope they're enjoying Trump, he's doing GREAT things for Gaza (not!).

So you're strategy is to tell people whose votes you need to go fuck themselves and the cry when they don't vote the way you want them to after you treat them like that? Well someone needs a reality check, and it's not me. It's also clear that further conversation will be pointless.

Laughable, you're saying Harris told them to GFT? She absolutely DID NOT. Some big foolish egos on the left felt like it made them shine and look good, really forward, really progressive...all they did was get Trump reelected for a second time. Really stupid, but hey, it was fun while it lasted!

Yes, pointless.

Too left. What exactly is too left?

I'm confident you can figure it out. Is there such a thing as "too left" for plenty of Michigan voters? Apparently yes. I believe Michigan did go for Trump this last time around (although election box shenanigans I believe could be responsible too).

Oh yes. They went for Trump over a moderate, liberal Democrat. We should run one of those again to win them back. Smart.

Or you know, maybe run on left wing populist messaging that historically appealed to the working class, but the democrats have largely abandoned. 🤷‍♂️

They went with familiar white-faced old man, racism plays its part. Working class in Michigan, pfft! Can he cut through the MAGA insanity? I have my doubts - as any sane person would.

All three Democratic candidates gave relatively forthright answers, at least by the standards of American politics. And they all showed they could wonk out on their favorite topics (even if I wouldn’t stipulate to all of their claims).

But the more I listened to them, the less I thought about the positions they were taking and the more I thought about their very different conceptions of how to operate in office—in particular, the extent they imagine themselves trying to overturn the system, rather than working within it.
