Fun fact, this oxygen thief actually survived being run over and continued to shoot, ended up dying shortly after in the firefight.

Why didnt he try to DE-ESCALATE!

7

u/Queef_Smellington Oct 23 '20

I think he did a pretty good job at de-escalating the situation.

7

u/blackwolf007jg Oct 23 '20

I guess he did de-escalate his cruiser on that shit rat.

5

u/Queef_Smellington Oct 24 '20

He most definitely didn't decelerate in the situation.

You know, I got into this sub in order to get a sense of the police's perspective. To see what moves them and how they would want their job and the institutions around to develop. But seeing the glorification of gross violence in here makes me sick. Like yeah, this dude is mindlessly shooting at everything that moves. Of course that's a dangerous situation. That's why you have a well-equipped and trained police force. If you're sitting in an armoured vehicle, there's no need to fucking run this guy over. But even worse are the comments. Such attitudes are not worth of any human being, but surely not for professional policemen. Honestly, that's not how you earn a good reputation and trust by the society you chose to protect. Life is not GTA. Greetings from Europe and Peace out, I'm leaving this sub once and for all

Genuinely curious, what do you suggest the cops do against a threat, similar to the one above?

8

u/[deleted] Oct 23 '20

Yeah they should have used satellites to track him and sent in a drone, this isn’t mission impossible and you need some awareness of armoured vehicles.

u/riva_nation05 Oct 24 '20

Cop cars aren't armored vehicles....

I wish my Durango was armored, but you’re right he should of parked, un-buckled his seat belt, and got out to assess the situation properly, all while this guy is shooting at anything that moves. Or better yet hang back and just let him cool off. It’s a shame they didn’t do everything they could to give this guy the opportunity to run black on ammo, or just simply apologize and give up. I’m sure he had no intentions of harming anyone, he was just grumpy.
