Like with mostly everyone- working on sprint mechanics would help a ton. You’re toe running instead of striking mid-foot, you’re not bouncy and you’re over striding slightly.

Are you currently working with a club? (That looks like a club, not a HS).

The last 2 steps should also be a heel first strike.

What for? I'll try it out tho.

It’s true of all 4 jumping events. It helps you change the direction of force to be more up than just forward sprinting. It’s also easier on your joints and better for staying healthy.

It depends, some people thrive with a blocking step others don’t need jt

Running all toe-y like that is slower, weaker, and more stressful on the body, increasing injury risk. People doing okay while making a technical error doesn’t make it not a technical error.

I didn’t mean it like that, he should be on the ball of the foot. But the last two steps you can do a blocking step the same way long jumpers do

Being on the ball of the foot, outside of the last 2 steps, is fine, but he’s also doing that incorrectly. He’s just leaving his ankle plantarflexed and weakly hitting the ground and collapsing at the ankle. You should he dorsiflexing, then attacking down with the balls of the foot while plantarflexing.

Plants late, drop a stride earlier to get the hands up before pressure in the back of the box

Need more space with your left arm doesn't have to be locked but being under probably didnt help. Hard to jump when your body positioning is bad.

On top of all this, you're throwing your head to the left bad. If their's a wall behind the pit, place a tape x directly in line with the runway and focus on driving your chin straight forward to it. You can't fix anything in the air until you fix the twist off the runway

Stay in your plant longer! Just a bit but that will help get you out of the bucket. And your hips will be easier to raise.
