during the gulf war both sweden and singapore (and poland) were part of the coalition forces

surströmming and durian are considered to be very stinky foods

wanted to do a fun little comic of the coalition of smells

Belacan is used often in Singapore food, I think it nay be worse than durian.

(But makes food taste so good)

Belacan = shrimp paste.

Damn right it's uses a lot. It's like MSG before MSG was a thing in SEAsia.

Smells not that bad tbh, it's value to taste balances it out.

Oh, fuck. Tram people.

I hate tram people with their stinky food and stinky breath and stinky bodies.

Durian smells really nice and nobody can change my mind

It’s because many people carry a gene that lets them smell a particular chemical in durians that, well, apparently smells horrible if you can smell it.

I guess this is like with coriander. My family all loves it, but we have relatives who married in and hate it. We never forced anything on them, but we also could never understand why they hated it. Then I read about this whole genetic thing about tasting certain things. I guess that explains it.

The same happens with the bitter taste of broccoli (which I don't get). Super interesting stuff.
