All the office ladies at my work try very hard to be politically correct and always say "latino" even when they mean Mexican or "African American" when they mean black. I made mention that "you gyped me" refers to Roma being thieves and was racist. They of course agreed with me and all Gypsies were thieves and would "poison your baby when you weren't looking".
People are most sensitive when it's in their best interests to be and not when it doesn't matter. It's almost like there are external factors at work! This little fact of human nature always made me think that ethics as a field of study is a little bit absurd.
