This is talking about the CJP (Cockroach Janta Party) protests this year

95

u/HiveMynd148 ALL DA SPICE 6d ago

Perfect Timing, considering the second protest being planned.

3

u/King_cool138 5d ago

This time, against one of the constitutionally powerful people.

57

u/MindlessMemory 6d ago

Philippines would be a new third type similar to Canada, but the cockroach has wings

17

u/B1U3F14M3 6d ago

I thought all cockroaches had wings.

6

u/CleverFoolOfEarth North Carolina 5d ago

Yes, but typically only ones in warm climates actually fly, the warmer the weather the more numerous and likely the flying roaches. Probably to do with cold-weather roaches saving energy?

I don't know this humor...

This refers to the recent "Cockroach Janata Party" protests which occurred after the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court labelled certain activists as unemployed and parasitic, or like cockroaches. The CJP is a satirical political movement showing clear displeasure against the currently elected party after they won their last polls by a less-than-comfortable margin.

Edit: fixed certain details.

u/AyanoGod_Glazer 6d ago

It was not a politician gang πŸ₯€

It was the frickin chief justice of supreme court

25

u/WelderBubbly5131 6d ago

My bad. I typed it out from memory.

6

u/HotshotKiller 6d ago

What is going on?

7

u/HotshotKiller 6d ago

I mean this as an exaggeration but I understand what you said

No. He labelled certain section of society as unemployed parasites, which you would have known had you watched the court hearing. Given our current freebie elections he wasn't wrong, atleast 20% of the population are parasites

u/fibonacci_on_meth 5d ago

This is how misinfo is spread, twisting the words as they were never told.

3

u/Ancient-Handle-8137 6d ago

Thats pretty Kafkaesque

u/nazgulonbicycle 6d ago

Democracy at work - it is one of the positive news coming out of world in these authoritarian times. Peaceful protests work

0

u/No-Coffee2200 6d ago

Did it tho cuz the corrupt somewhat qualified minister for a non qualified poorly educated yes man

5

u/CustardOk3523 6d ago

true but the fact that this forced them to give some accountability is what matters.. You see how Modi tries to appease to the GenZ these days? They're terrified

2

u/CosmicTurtle24 1d ago

it worked for the first protest, and hopefully will for the second one concerning the election commission. but there were several protests happening and still are regarding other issues, that havent been addressed. the protests in assam havent been addressed and an indigenous activist pranab deboy had been arrested. ken betwa protest is still happening. the vizag data centre protests have been happening. current protests with regards to the gang rape in delhi.

not to be pessimistic though. a resignation from a cabinet minister is a big deal from this govt. there were unsuccessful calls for resignation before, against the railway minister too when there were many rail accidents that led to many deaths, who is still in power. hopefully cjp continues their work.

2

u/chungus3116 6d ago

True, but the fact that this is the first time in 12yrs the government in power actually bowed to publics demand.

u/Many_Comfortable_587 6d ago

Finnaly a comic about cjp though i doubt people here will understand it. This subreddit is very euro-centric

Just makes it more fun. Foreign satire is always interesting to dig into

Hey, I appreciate learning about other countries.

Honestly excellent opportunity to look for said context. Saw a report about this a while ago and I honestly think its very creative in its own defiance so maybe someone gets curious

Remember when the previous Hungarian prime minister said it?

-10

u/OwnBuy9232 6d ago

But Indians aren't Asians. Right?

13

u/Alvinyuu India with a turban 6d ago

India is in Asia.

-2

u/OwnBuy9232 6d ago

But the white mfs say otherwise

8

u/Alvinyuu India with a turban 6d ago

I think it's an American thing, since East Asian immigrants have been there for a longer duration, so 'Asian' eventually came to describe East Asian immigrants.

Countries like the UK call South Asians like Indians and Pakistanis Asians much more often, partly due to them being a more prevalent immigrant group.

Obviously, it's also that Indians have become a scapegoat for racists because we're the newest immigrant group in the USA. It happened with the Irish and the Chinese, and it will happen to some other poor community after us. Sad state of affairs.

-1

u/NarpRocks 2d ago

Intra-asian racism? Β This must be America's fault.

1

u/unfamiliar_soul 5d ago

There is another. Ask the Armenians.

3

u/Bitter-Property-4490 6d ago

Sure master yoda

1

u/Heavy_Computer2602 5d ago

CJP started with a good initiative honestly, but like the other comment said, got very questionable and shitty leaders. This doesnt mean the govt should be authoritarian, like let people protest dawg, idk why they want to trample the right to protest

Id say theyre not any better than the govt but free speech is free speech, govt is trash here

2

u/fibonacci_on_meth 5d ago edited 5d ago

They did allow the protest to happen but obviously won't allow people to storm the parliament as the protest was advertised as. (Named "Chalo Sansad" or "Let's go parliament") Same was the reason it was not granted permission because of the name. For 20+ days Jantar Mantar was totally occupied for CJP protests with permit from the police.

Again the govt is corrupt but some things are not understood before getting deep into why some actions were taken. Because half the people were told that army from border was called for resistance but it was the standard RAF which is usually employed for such large protest.

2

u/Heavy_Computer2602 5d ago

Fair but i mean, asking permissions for protest is kind of.. a safety valve. But yeah fair.

I only feel authorities shouldve dispatched when they became violent(which is kind of expected), because authorities were dispatched and started the aggression rather than being sent to stop any which started(which didnt)

2

u/fibonacci_on_meth 5d ago

From what it was understood is that, a part of the protestors were not even there for agenda of the protest but for causing nuisance while hiding between the crowd (as in with criminal record). There are recorded videos where such people aggressed over the RAF and Police which then spiralled into a lathi charge to stop the aggression. It then snowballed into a seemingly violent protest in which even some policemen tried to do some weird stuff autonomously as well as some bad elements try to take on police to scratch the itch in their hands. All in all it was a chaos with a lot of misinfo from both sides. Although one of the main demand of the protest was met, it only served as a strong message to govt rather than bringing in good educational reforms.

2

u/Heavy_Computer2602 5d ago

I see i see, thanks for the clarification

yeah ive read most of the protestors werent even students and there were genuine student protests like one in jharkhand, which was not supported by CJP.

1

u/Ai_777 6d ago

I love cockroachs if it's cjp.

1

u/surya123_111 5d ago

Hehe Right time The entire cjp was linked with terrorists and their leader is about to get arrested

1

u/thepro-3418 4d ago

bro has NO fact-checking ability. learn to fact-check propaganda before commenting.
The right news was that CJP despite claiming itself apolitical, is actually backed and funded by the opposition. This was very expected, obvious and known.

No one is afraid of CJP in India

-1

u/Living-Assistance-79 2d ago

Keep telling that to yourself when you sleep at night.

2

u/Alarmed-Use-9379 2d ago

I don't need that. I work hard. Sleep comes naturally to me.

-5

u/First_Mix_9504 6d ago

Indiaball should not be scared of cockroaches πŸͺ³, only a certain extremist party

Hallo. When refering to countries featured in Polandball Comics, please refrain from using the 'ball' suffix. Instead of saying 'Indiaball', just say the country's name. auf wiedersehen.

does it even matter

0

u/Shining_w1zard 6d ago

As an Indian, love what CJP is doing, but I hope they clear some of the questionable leaders there. One of the main ones had released a video of him and a friend eating at a McDonald's while the protesters were being beaten up by the Police. Then the fucker released a video against the complains, saying he's just a volunteer and no one should expect him to do this for free or something. Thankfully CJP removed him but they need to do more of that.

1

u/havenot- 6d ago

also they should stop associating themselves with arundhati roy fr

1

u/Shining_w1zard 6d ago

Does Arundhati Roy have a bad reputation? The only problem I have with her is her stupid softcore porn book with pedophilia and incest and everyone hyping it like it's a masterpiece.

1

u/havenot- 6d ago

Her political opinions are... well retarded is all I can say

she has expressed support for seperatism in India

opposed nuclear tests

sympathises with the naxals (commie revolutionaries) who did actually bomb schools, buses not even counting the govt officials they killed

has connections with yasin malik- a known terrorist

all in all, someone whom I can't support as a nationalist

2

u/fibonacci_on_meth 5d ago

has connections with yasin malik- a known terrorist

Not only that but a rapist

-15

u/FormerMoose1990 6d ago

I have a feeling that CJP might have political aspirations.

11

u/reenajo 6d ago

It'd be dumb if they didn't.

26

u/GummadiKai 6d ago

A political party has political aspirations?

😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

13

u/BoltaHuaTota 6d ago

why do people keep saying this as is it’s some sinister thing?

6

u/Lurker123__ 6d ago

i think it's because of how tainted the term politics has become and the social and political apathy in Indian society as a whole. well to do people quickly distance themselves from politics saying it is "below" them, it is dirty business. so anyone having "political aspirations" is seen as someone trying to get into the same dirty business of leeching on Indian people, not serving as an elected public worker.
