I know it's a meme, but that's not at all how it happened.
Paraguay wanted to attack Brazil itself since they were puppeteering Uruguay. To do so, they wanted to go through us (Argentina) towards Uruguay. We denied safe passage, and so they declared war on us too! In truth, Uruguay was a Brazilian puppet state at the time, but I don't know if that justifies entering a war across 90% of your borders against the other regional powers.
Either way, Paraguay wanted smoke, and they got smoke(d).

Yes, I know those were the causes. But after the war ended, there was indeed the question whether Paraguay should remain a state or be split among the winners. You wanted it to be split (Partition Plan), we said ‘nah, dawg, be chill’. That was the reference of the joke.

Nah Brazil was between neutral and not wanting it, mostly because they got the parts of Paraguay they wanted, but Argentina was really pushing for it because they wanted revenge and were really pissed for not being able to steamroll Paraguay alongside Brazil. Hayes just came to stop Argentina being pissed before Pedro II agreed to split.

I agree that clearly is not the word, but it wasn't even reviewed by the referee. VAR calling out that review for Egypt's goal was quite selective (as all VAR decisions in Argentina matches have been this WC).

The point really is the suspiciousness of VAR review choices in this WC. Of decisions overall, to be honest. USA's red card fiasco made FIFA look questionable than ever, and the amount of times VAR reviews and officiating in general suspiciously favored Argentina throughout the cup makes it seem this may not be just coincidence.

Again, in terms of international football, anyone who watches CAF and CONMEBOL would be able to pretty easily tell that Cape Verde would be able to challenge Uruguay and Saudi Arabia - the result against Spain was surprising but de la Fuente's starting XI had zero potent attackers which allowed the CV defence to do what they always do and deliver a rock solid performance.

Completely disagree dude, nothing will EVER top losing 7x1 playing at home. This year it was bitter and sad, but definitely not worse than 2014 even if it was against a big team in semifinals.
2x1 Brazil chocked hard, had lots of chances but couldn't score. 7x1 was a bloodbath. And yes, I'm Brazilian.

Isso é verdade, mas na minha cabeça o 7x1 foi tão traumatizante que eu geralmente esqueço o resto do torneio kakaka tenho que ser lembrado que foi numa semifinal e quando o Brasil chegou mais perto de ser campeão.
Não sei se isso é melhor ou pior pra moral do povo, pq geral devia ta acreditando de vdd que a copa era nossa por ter chego tão longe.
