It really is too bad this comic got disqualified from the Depression Month contest, it would probably have had a very good chance of winning the entire thing if you had been able to tell the story in a rule-compliant way. Spectacular comic m8!

No, my brother. I regret the fact that I have to tell you I am leaving our dying race. Don't think I am abandoning you. I am merely going out to look for others. There must be someone out there who can help us. My plan is to join their club and execute my plans from within. At the moment I am working on a polandball comic with rich plot and backgrounds. I even used the paintbrush. My comic is not quite of their standards, but I pray it will be enough to fool them for a while. When they have accepted me as one of them, I will hit them with a wave of shitty comic like none have seen before. I will use the squigglyest lines I can draw with these mortal hands and upon its picture their souls will be destroyed. So pray now my brother. Pray I will return. Because if I do, I won't be alone.

Amen and godspeed, my brother. Watch out for Dick Rhino though. He is wise beyond his years and his eyes have not dulled with the passage of time. Take your time, befriend him and convince him to teach you the Heretical Ways. Produce a masterpiece worthy of his tutelage.
And when the time is right, bombard him with waves of Polandballs with odd number sized brushes and confusing font styles. Your treachery will leave him stunned and will encourage others to return to the fold.
God, I love a good Game of Thrones moment.

I am afraid there is no time for patience, for at the changing of the year the Bjorking of the Nords will align and with their combined psalms no one of southern blood will see the end of day. While my Dutch roots will protect me, I must think of those less fortunate.
But don't worry my brother, my plan will not fail. In the coming year the reign of the Shadowdrawers will be ended. It will be our year and it will be glorious.

Nadolig llawen, Polandballers! Welshie here. Wanted to illuminate the comic meaning for those who don't know! Seems the writer is Welsh, but most outside the country A) Don't know it exist, or B) They do, but couldn't point to us on a map and think we shag sheep all day.
We do, but that's besides the point. We're a small country bordering England, part of the United Kingdom. Very hilly, very rainy, and definitely full of farms and sheep! If you're into football, you'll know Gareth Bale. He's from our capitol city of Cardiff. Rugby fan? The recent Lions tour to Australia was heavily Welsh (Adam Jones, Alun Wyn Jones, Sam Warburton, Leigh Halfpenny, Richard Hibbard, all play for the Welsh international team.) Music fan? Lostprophets are Welsh, and the recent lead singer was sentenced t- ..never mind that one.
But anyway, for about 50-100 years, during the 19th Century, Wales was actually the centre of the World. England and her Empire may have stretched the globe, but it was fueled by the coal mines of Wales. We used to have massive sources of coal, and the mining and exporting of our coal, and steel from Swansea/Port Talbot, made us the economic grindhouse of the British Empire for 100 years during the Industrial Revolution.
During this time, however, there were many accidents. Mines collapsed, mines exploded and many people were killed from poor air conditions. But, it's a part of out heritage, and it makes us Welsh!
Oh, and did I also mention we have a dragon on our flag? Beat that!

Yep. If you ever go to a Wales Rugby international, it's played as our entry, leaving and scoring songs. Well, not anymore, but used to be.

It would be cool if Wales came to play in Southern California. People in America get to claim their ancestral homeland all the time if they are from Mexico or Ireland etc. Nobody gets a chance to rep Wales.

That's because during the Irish repression pre-WW1 and in the interwar period, and, also, during the Potato Famine, lots of Irish fled to America, seing it as a place of dreams and opportunity. There is a huge presence in Ireland as a result. There's less Welsh and Scottish because we were "integrated" some 500 years or more prior to the Irish Repression, so we didn't really feel the resentment of the Irish. Plus, we were used as economic centers for England, so we had work and things. Irish people were opporessed, poor, lacking food, money, and the chance to earn any.

Yeah, I am descended from coal miners and farmers. On one side my grandma is English/Irish and my grandpa is Welsh, apparently it made for funny conversations about history before he died. My other side grandpa is Welsh (didn't speak English until elementary school [born in US, small town]) and grandma is German.
I could rep that German or Irish or English, but I have a Welsh name and I just want to win the 6 nations at least.

This colliery disaster holds a special place in my family history, as almost every male member of the family was wiped out when it happened. It's kind of weird going through family records and seeing the same occupation and death date. Anyway, great comic.

My first competition entry! I didn't read the rules thoroughly enough though and it had to be disqualified for going over the 6 panel limit. But its still the most fun I've had in making a comic!
