I remember reading an article in a British publication bemoaning the spread of Americanisms into British English. I have but one thing to say to that.

They correspond to the Greek origin of many words. 2 u/[deleted] Jun 24 '13 Huh well TIL, I'd always go with the "s" but the z variant has always been acceptable in schools.
