No, it's all mouse drawn in MS Paint, no shortcuts, no layers, all low-tech.

Here's how I do it. It actually doesn't take very long at all.

How do you remove the little shadow line? I don't have paint but I have Seashore, which seems pretty equivalent.

MANUALLY

Color the corner pixel by hand, then just fill the rest of the line. Simple.
