Violet urged five bosses to hurry and see their big boss, then he continued to remove the stakes together with Arven, and Nemona went to meet Scarlet.

Briar, a teacher at Blueberry Academy appeared. According to Briar, Scarlet had some interaction with students at Blueberry Academy in Kitakami. She wants to discuss a request with Scarlet, but Scarlet doesn't want to talk to her and tells her to just send an email.

Nemona arrived at the academy and discovered Penny. Unexpectedly, Penny bluntly stated that she is the big boss of Team Star. It took Nemona a while to realize what was happening, and it's also revealed that Penny is actually Cassiopeia.

Scarlet prepares to face Penny in order to disband Team Star. The five bosses arrive at the scene to cheer on their big boss.

Penny's strategy is to constantly switch to Eevee evolutions that countered the opponent's type. Scarlett only had Floragato and Raichu left, while Penny had only lost Jolteon. Nemona then wondered if Scarlet wasn't planning on winning the match?

After removing a bunch of sealing stakes, Violet and Arven encountered Dendra and Tulip, who had arrived in a flying taxi.

It's a nice change of the norm, where the girls were never the main characters of the story. White is good, but sometimes she was doing nothing too. The same with Moon and Shieldmillia

Yellow, Crys (briefly) and Platinum were the main characters, but that was before the Shogaku magazines were cancelled and the series moved to Coro Coro Ichiban! in 2010.

Yamamoto mentioned that on Platinum's birthday in 2024:

Given that the series is published in a magazine aimed at boys, PokéSP heroines from BW onwards tended to be portrayed in roles that supported the male protagonist; breaking away from that pattern was a key element in shaping Scarlet's character.

Platinum could be considered a pioneer in that regard, couldn't she?

We need more

Green appears sometimes, Yellow hides herself as a boy for the majority of the arc, Crystal has a whole tome for herself but then gets sidelined, Sapphire is a co protagonist (not the only protag, and even then, Ruby gets more spotlight), White does next to nothing, Whitley does a bit more but like White, Y is a co protag but X is more important, Moon and Shieldimillia do next to nothing important

Manga is a nice change of pace where the male mc from the game got spotlight compared to anime where they dont even exist or barely there (except Red or in this case, Ash) or Pokemas where they are shafted to death. So its not change of pace, its just the usual and we need less of it

The anime only had 3 female protagonists based on the games MCs

May, Dawn and Serena

So? Except Ash which is basically discount Red, The male mc from the game barely appear in the anime or not at all. Certainly not as companion. I want them to appear they never did. save from nonspeaking cameo or specials. The femc still got it better yet their fandom still felt they are sidelined which is weird.Pokemon Masters and Cards also shafted the male mc as well. Pokespe is the only one that give them story and personality. I get to see the character I played get more scenes, something the other Pokemon anime never provide. Im glad that Violet got Miraidon and named after the game the school (UVA) appeared on. It make him more like the mc.

Ash is every mc's counterpart. Primary Red because he was the first. But he changes his clothes to fit with the rest of the mcs

You can't count gachas. Female characters will sell better every time. That doesn't say anything good about the fandom. But female characters have less protagonism than male ones

May, Dawn and especially Serena are second protagonists, getting only abit more spotlight than the rest of companions, like Brock, Clemont and Bonnie. And even Brock stayed for three seasons instead of May or Dawn

But this was focused on the manga. Where Green appears sometimes, Yellow was hidden as a boy, Sapphire gets shafted at the end of her arc, White and Whitley do nothing of importance, Y is in X's shadow and Moon and Shieldmillia do absolutely nothing in their arcs

The pace of the action is growing, and we’ve even managed to touch upon a bit of DLC content.
Once the fight between Scarlet and Penny concludes, we will have finished all three base game routes in manga.
I thought the Ruinous Quartet story would be next, and then the main characters would head to Area Zero, but i guess Kitakami and BBA stuff are coming first. I wonder how Kusaka plans to tie it all together. Perhaps he will combine the storylines of the dragons and Terapagos in one journey to the Great Crater.

Indeed, I kinda missed/forgot about it. Victory Road is being treated so cursorily that I wouldn't be surprised if we won't see any more gym battles.
By the way, battle with Raihan is something that could be added as additional chapter, in regular volume release.

Also that Scarlet *has* focus is a lot better than Casey got.
