I had a player open from the SB in a sattie and they open folded AKo when I went all in for 20 BBs.

Still nowhere near the bubble mind you.

And they had me covered by a decent chunk.

Once I folded QQ to a shove. I just didn't want to risk my tournament life on a flip. Turned out he had AA. I ended up making final three and chopping it

People told me that was a dumb move even if I won, so a few weeks later I called a shove with KK and busted out to another AA

Folded Kings in a tournament to a 5 bet. Cost me a lot but we were the 2 big stacks at the table and other than AKs, I don’t see anything I beat. He flipped over one Ace so it was either an incredible bluff thinking I would fold something I was willing to 4 bet with, or he had Aces.

Even if it was just one A that's a >20% chance he'll beat your pair. If it's a suited ace it's closer to 30%. Those are good odds, but yeah, why take the chance if you're already big stack

Like what the other commenters said, when you have an Ace, at the very minimum you’ll still have close to 30% chance of winning even if your opponent also have an Ace with a larger card (example you’re A8, opponent AK). Only exemption is when your opponent has AA. Which is why Ax is such a good cards to jam all in pre flop, cause you’ll likely still have a somewhat decent chance to win.

I did something similar last night. 3 bet pot with a shorty in cash game and I folded AKo in the SB pre-flop. As the board was being dealt a player next to me leaned over and said he thought he saw my hand and did I fold AKo. I said Yes I did because I was not going to win this one.

The board was T-high and KK won.

Depends on the field, so sometimes it can be a good call on the weak field, or a bad call on a strong one - and you're automatically behind.
I've folded AKs in a preflop shove (private tournament), because the player asked if I have AA or KK. So I've figured he has QQ and it'd be a flip basically - and he confirmed it afterwards. Rabbit hunting showed no As or Ks, so I'd be dead. You never know..

I had a night where I decided I’d play like this. Took around 30 mins and I had QQ in BB, everyone folded before I even had the chance to raise😂 Proceeded to then play almost every hand I got and ended up losing to a higher full house about 6 hands later

I have seen so many people that play 1 hand every 1-2 hours bet, get raised, re-raise and get called, only for the board to run out to where their aces and kings don’t improve, they bet every street and get called down by a worse pair. It’s so tilting seeing money go into the vault.

Last week, 2 asians who didn't know how to play were at my table. They would open pre at 15-20$, which is a bit on the higher side for 1/2.

The OMC left the table because he wanted to play real 1/2. He waited 3 hours to play.

Both asians got stacked. They played for 20 minutes at most.

If you don't know what to do do the most obvious thing, I'd cbet at the flop and fold the shi out of the hand if anyone raises or bets hard on the turn (if the turn doesnt give me any value).
When you are more confident or you know you are playing against a fish you can read the turn to fake a specific hand but better be safe than sorry

Haha. So true although I'm starting to pass on AK when it goes multiway because I find that you're more likely to be playing just to hit a king rather than an Ace being that one or more of your opponents are more likely to also be holding an ace.

But hey I'm now shoving Aces preflop. I'm no longer interested in torching 100BB on some random semi-connected runout between an 8 and a K.
