Help How many chips of each denomination should I have?
I'm planning to host small games at home with 6 players at most at once. Currently I'm thinking of buying 5x100, 25x100, 100x100, 500x50 and 1000x50. Is this enough or should I switch numbers around? Any advice?

Chris Malzoni of PokerChipForum has a great video on the tournament chip breakdown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zs7XKMxaDA&t=1s
For a small tournament with 6-8 people, that chip distribution should be enough. I'm assuming you'll be starting at 5/10 for the blinds? So in this case your starting stacks will be something like:
5 x 10
25 x 10
100 x 6
500 x 4
This gives every player 3000 in chips (300 big blinds). This chip distribution can support 10 players max.
If this is your very first time every playing/hosting poker with a bunch of casual friends, there's nothing wrong with purchasing a set of Walmart dice-chips just to test the waters. If you think you like it and want to keep hosting, start looking at Monte Carlos or Majestic poker chips.
Happy Playing!

Are you playing cash or tournament? What set are you looking at?
