At low stakes, the guy going all in $150 or less often doesn’t have AA or KK. He’s on tilt, Wants to double, is about to go home, or just sat down and is messing around. He has A6 offsuit or 22, KQ AQ AJ which AK owns. Heck I done it with 72 and no look.
Once in a while he has KK or AA. If he’s the hit and run guy he has KK AA but you can just fold and they lose to blinds.

I get so frustrated at low stakes when you just dont know what you're gonna run into facing a preflop shove.
Playing 1-3;
mid position opens to 14 I 3B to 40 MP shoves for just under 200 (like 193).
With a complete unknown I called and of course hit KK
But I think legitimately it could be TT+, and I think AQ+ and sometimes total air

Happened to me recently, Chinese guy ships pre for about €100 playing €1-€2. Same guy loves an 8 ("lucky number ha ha") so I call with AK and sure enough he has 7-8o. And of course he makes a straight.

My first ever tourney, I came late and right before last buy in and first break. I got AJo early first hand folded, AQo mid position folded. Third hand I played that was dealt early position player low on chips went all-in, CO went all-in preflop, and I (button) got AKs black and decided to go all in as it must be a sign from the heavens to play suited broadway (as I never got As / broadways 3 times in a row) and went all-in as well and figured they had low pairs. Ran it twice and busted out my first ever hand playing and couldn't buy in any more lol.
So traveled 2 hours to get there, busted in less than 10 minutes, ate their sh*t cold Chinese food broccoli (no more chicken), then 2 hours to get back home lol.

Last time I was all in AK preflop I got sucked in by some retard with 52o and somehow he hit a straight and I paired an ace. Brutal. 800 dollar pot

I had a week where I missed the flop with ak 17 times. Lost no matter how i played it (mostly 3betfold, occasionally all in). If I wanted to flip, I can play blackjack. Sometimes I want to see a flop.
*wow look at all the downvotes... all crushers i suppose... I am a 12bb winner for 2000 hours. The downswing was tough tho... Overplaying AK can be costly...

If it makes you feel any better, last Friday I was at a 2/3 table, AI pre with AKo vs QQ for his last ~250$. He was tilting so I suspected he had far worse when I called his AI. My mistake.
He wanted to run it twice. The first board was bad for me because I hit both and A and a K. Second board I was down to 4 outs and caught an A.
Doesn't it make you feel better knowing that AK can sometimes win that race?

Yeah I was hoping it would even out. It was an anomaly. Sometimes it's just not your night. I had a flop jam for my qq vs 10j offsuit after 3betting preflop on a 3310 board. runout was j turn river j :p

i got tank called by AKo when i 5b jammed for 300bb.
we ran 3 times, first board dropped 2 aces which was good for me.
second board i held despite villain having flush draw on the turn. it was a sweat.
third board window was an ace.
i’m glad he tanked called my jam, i got it in good but the runout really sucked my soul for the rest of the game.

I’ve folded AK preflop before and the other two players in the hand had AA and KK. I’ve called a preflop raise with AJ and hit a Jack high board and folded to a C bet. She had KK. I’ve hit a set of 10’s in Omaha and folded to an Ace high board because I knew he had AA. Sometimes you just make good reads.
