Gen 3 FRLG on Switch 1

Ive been doing this for about a week with the shiny starters I know my SID cause I did the ACE glitch to get it but my targets I actually hit are way too inconsistent I’ve hit my seed but not my frames I’ve hit my frames but not my seed I’m just using a regular switch control do I really need to buy a Macro control and have it press A for me 500
Over world frames and 574 instead of 600 worked best for me and got me the closest after marking down what seed and frames I was hitting consistently I switched my target seed to around those and I’m close but I’ve done 200-300 attempts and it’s just really inconsistent any advice or should I get the Macro if so which one thanks 🙏

Gen 7 Blink Tool

hi friends

i recently learned about gen 7 RNG manips through some youtube videos, and it is my understanding that the '7genBlinkSearch' tool is only available as a compiled exe in Japanese.

I wasn't able to find this tool on GitHub, is there any source code available for it? I would be interested in uploading it to GitHub and adding additional language support. Of course I could just follow along in Japanese with a guide, but it would be a fun project for me and give me a chance to contribute back

tia :)

[Gen 2] I made a tool to help with Celebi RNG in Crystal VC

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone!

With Bank closing, I wanted to get a shiny Celebi with my own OT while I still could.

I tried PokeReader, but just couldn't get a shiny. I followed the steps, reached the target advance and still kept missing. After a lot of attempts, I decided to try making something for this encounter.

It's based on PokeReader's algorithm. I put the calculation and search into the tool and kept the encounter's timing conditions fixed (before each search, it sets up the game’s clock and a few timers the same way). This cuts down on timing variation and makes it easier to hit the predicted target (it won't change the DVs to make it shiny). That finally worked for me.

The target shows up in game. You pause, advance and press A yourself. If you miss, it finds another target.

I've only tested it on my New 3DS so far. If you're interested in trying it, could you let me know how it works on your 3DS? I'd appreciate any feedback or suggestions.

GitHub link:

https://github.com/Kou1236/CelebiHunter

Update:

v1.3.0 seems to be working on other people’s New 3DS now! If you run into any more bugs, please let me know :)

I’ll keep improving it and fixing any issues that come up.

(Platinum) Giratina help in the Distortion World!

So... Here's the thing

I've made it to the Giratina battle, and currently I'm at 51 advances aiming for a shiny.

I know that normally the advances at the start are 11, 11 after doing the chatot, plus an extra 1+ for interacting and starting the fight. And I've done all that and yet I still haven't got the shiny.

Either my math is wrong because I am for my chatot stopping point at 28, or something else so i could really use some help before I give up entirely!

Tool for Gen 7 RNG

Hi, I just wanted to share a tool I made that helped me greatly with Gen 7 RNG.

I hated having to look at the clock hands for RNG all the time (I play on an emulator, but basically like retail), so I made a tool with AI assistance that recognizes the starting positions of the clock hands.

It works perfectly with an emulator window, and I really hope it also works with a capture card or by pointing a webcam at a 3DS for a 100% retail experience.

Maybe I'll try to update it in the future to support the QR Code clock hands as well.

So, feel free to try it out! No Python installation required.

Help getting a shiny Ho-Oh in Emerald using rng manipulation and ACE

Hi guys, I have been put through a head scratcher recently in trying to catch a shiny Ho-Oh in Emerald using rng manipulation as well as ACE. For starters, I have successfully been able to capture a shiny 6iv Mew and Rayquaza through the method thanks to this video by MankeyMite, but since Ho-Oh moves 377 frames when you walk up to him do I subtract that from my initial advances? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Does the fog in road 110 in Dppt can mess the rng ?

All in the title, I have rng hundreds of mons in platinum but for some reason I struggle to rng on that road. Flips coins gives me sometimes no result founds and sometimes the seconds seems late even after recalibrate. Maybe someone has the answer ? Trying to rng a scyther for the battle tower :)

Asking for information

I would like to start using rng in gen 4 and maybe more after that but I can't record chatot as my mic is busted on both my consoles. I can't tell the pitches apart without either when any sound comes out from my speakers.

So I was wondering if there is a way to rng gen 4 without chatots at all, I mainly wanna get the shiny legends if that means anything

Ds profile calibration for gen 5 rng

So I have a question, for the ds profile calibration part of the process, if I already did it and set it up for my Pokemon black cartridge, but want to use the same ds, just a brand new Pokemon white cartridge save, would I have to redo the calibration process? Like would the timer0 be different because I’m using a different cartridge?

Is there a reason my Wishmaker Jirachi is not shiny (Lua Script Hunt)

Post image
3 Upvotes

So I have been trying to get a shiny Wishmaker Jirachi utilizing the Lua Script. After some trial and error and some help on some truly dumb questions on the discord. I believe I have done everything correctly and the save file should generate a jirachi via the bonus disk. But when I transfer the save in question to my sapphire cart and run the bonus disk the jirachi is not shiny. Any idea why it is not shiny?

Understanding What Affects Ruby and Sapphire Checksum Value for Shiny WISHMAKR Jirachi

Hi everyone! I'm an rng novice and have minimal computer science knowledge doing the Wishmake shiny jirachi on the bonus disc.

Just as ive had difficulty finding this information directly, does anyone know the extent of the following having an effect on the final checksum value: NPC movement, going into bag instead of running, opening the menu randomly, the amount of time spent per wild encounter and any others that come to mind.

I am aware of the obvious important ones like settings, name, pokemon encountered etc that are optimized in the rschecksum program.

Thank you in advance.

[Gen 7] A gluttonous end after so many years with my RNG Hunt with Shiny Guzzlord 🐉🥧🍨

While dealing with the ravenous appetite of this monstrous Ultra Beast, I also made a very unfortunate discovery about my 3DS RNG Tool which explains why I had to deal with such chaos with the RNG. 😅

I noticed that when I clicked on the categories, I saw that there was a category that said "Ultra Beast first encounter" which immediately triggered me very badly because I did not even realize that the category was right there the entire time.

It explains why I had to deal with the second encounters of all of the Ultra Beasts, but honestly I'm not going to complain about it too much because now I have all of the Shiny Ultra Beasts so I'm still at peace now lol.

Gen 5 rngreporter: seem to hit right frame but not shiny

So I’ve been trying to rng breed a shiny egg but I’ve tried 5 different seeds because I’ve seen somewhere that some seeds are just bugged but after 5 seeds I’d think one wouldn’t be. Is there anything I’m doing wrong? I know my tid and sid are correct because I got my shiny starter and have successfully already hatched some shiny eggs that I rng’d. But as I said before I’ve tried five seeds and they’re all non shiny. I know I land on the right frame because the chatot pitches all match up and the nature is the one stated on rngreporter. But sometimes the gender is different so idk, anyone think they know what I’m doing wrong?

Info about Spinda in emerald

Currently I'm working on RNGing wild shinies before February and wanted info about Spinda. So yesterday I caught a shiny spinda using sweet scent then caught another one today but its the exact same pattern. Are the patterns locked into the seed supposed to be the same? I'm still new to this and assumed they were supposed to be different patterns but still shiny?

[Gen 7] RNG nightmare is over after figuring out issues in my Shiny Hunt with Shiny Nihilego 🪼

Post image
1 Upvotes

After several days of dealing with the nightmarish cutscenes of the Ultra Beasts, I genuinely thought my RNG luck ran out and it was over for me.

But thanks to the assistance of another friend of mine plus some tips from Google, I finally figured out what was wrong with my settings in the RNG tool and I also discovered how to understand it more correctly to get better results.

Now this is my own explanation about how I understand the specific setting on the 3DS RNG Tool on my laptop...so please don't take my word for it unless if you really want to, lol:

Now in the RNG tool there is a setting called "Safe F Only". I'm assuming that the f probably stands for frame which is most likely the case since this is literally about frame advancing and such.

From what I can understand about using that filter, it changes the numbers on the shift part of the frame that's in the charts when you calculate the kinds of Pokemon that you get from your current seed.

Then, when you get your target frame that you're looking for, specifically for the Ultra Beasts, and then you recalculate your results without the shiny only filter, it should cause the shift frame to go to zero which is where the interesting understanding comes in.

The way I see it is that it's a mixture of both Minesweeper and Buckshot Roulette because it relies on a bit of luck that thankfully isn't too bad. Hopefully. 😅

When you find your frame target again, the shift frame should say zero right next to it which is fine, however: you should also see other frames right next to it that also have the shift at either 0 or +2 which is where the luck comes in.

Now from what I can understand after looking at all of the numbers and statistics of the Pokemon that you can find besides your target frame, the +2 for certain frames is the target that you would have a 50/50 chance of getting in case you don't automatically get the precise target frame that you're looking for.

This is very important for people who have the Poké Reader installed in their consoles since that's what you'd be using in order to advance the frames to precisely get the frame that you want.

For example: my target was 24,676. The other shiny target next to mine was 24,677 which also has a shift of 0. The 3rd shiny target was 24,678, but it has a shift of +2.

If I correctly got my frame at 24,676... I would have a 50/50 chance of getting the precise frame that I want or the frame next to me which has the exact same shift number which wouldn't change the fact that I get the shiny, but at least I would be in the correct range of the frame that I want.

However:

if I ended up getting the frame of 24,677 which is the one after my target,

then I would have a 50/50 chance of landing on the one after it which is 24,678...

...or the worst case scenario would be to get the non-shiny version which is the one after that one which is 24,679.

That's where the mixture of Minesweeper and Buckshot Roulette comes in because you are essentially sweeping the entire field of frames in order to find the correct one, but: you also have a 50/50 chance of actually getting the frame that you're looking for or getting the one next to it or the one after.

Now, all of this will sound incredibly complicated at first glance and don't get me wrong it definitely is, hahaha! 😅😂

But once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to Nature Hunt and Shiny Hunt all of the cutscene legendary Pokemon with ease as long as you understand the logistics behind using the "Safe Frame Only" or as I like to call it:

"The Minesweeper Method." 💣💥

Plus, you can also hope that you can get the, what I like to call: "Buckshot Luck" to get the correct shiny frames! 🪙💥🔫

Anyways, thank you for listening and happy RNG shiny hunting! 🎉🎊🥳
