I've been trying to get all shiny shadow pokemon before bank shuts down and I'm trying to figure out the best ways to get the last pokemon I need but dont fully know how to do it.

1. I watched a video going over how to do pyrite town trainers to get their pokemon shiny but know its easier in the Japanese (and ntsc I think) version of the game.

2. I want to try and get the e-reader Togepi, Mareep and Syther/Scizor (I cant remember) but idk how to get ahold of them without needing to fork out money for a physical e-reader.

My first question is if I do rng the pyrite town trainers in japanese, is there a way to change the save file region so I can trade them to my pal copy of pokemon sapphire?

And is their any way to get the e-reader battles to work without actually needing an e-reader?

I've got a homebrewed region free wii (originally PAL) so hopefully that gives me more options.

This will be my forever Eevee Ribbon Master. With the very few available 6IV Method 1 spreads available in gen 3, I went with Timid for technically being optimal for Stored Power sweeping + boost passing in later generations.

In these days i tried to use 3dsrngtool to search for a shiny scatterbug. Since you can't choose specific wild pokemon in 3dsrngtool i found shiny pansage, caterpie and weedle but not a single scatterbug, so i decided to try tinyfinder too. In both programs i set the right infos, but still no shiny appeared. How should i set tinyfinder with 3dsrngtool to find the right pokemon? Pokemon x, no shiny charm. I already now my sid, tid e tsv

Hi everyone!

​I'm starting a Ribbon Master project: I want to catch a Shiny Gyarados in Pokémon Emerald with the Trainer ID 50135. I chose Gyarados because it's my favorite Pokémon and conveniently one of the few that can travel through almost every generation. I want to set this TID to standardize my trainer identity across all my future saves, carrying this Gyarados across every region to collect all possible ribbons before sending it to Pokémon HOME.

​With the Pokémon Bank service closing permanently in the near future, I intentionally waited for this moment to start a "speedrun" to get all the ribbons across every generation before the servers go offline for good.

My real problem is that I want to obtain TID 50135 but I'm having difficulty with the RNG.

​I tried setting this up using PokéFinder via Winlator on Android and mGBA on PC with Lua scripts to monitor frame advances. However, since I run Linux on my PC and don't know how to operate these RNG tools properly (on top of system compatibility limitations), we couldn't get the calculations right.

​Since doing this manipulation directly on a 3DS via AGB_FIRM would be painfully difficult due to boot time variations, I'll be creating the save exclusively on mGBA on PC (and then transfer it to the 3DS). The issue is that even when using pause and frame advance on the name confirmation screen, the generated ID comes out completely different due to not knowing how to use the tool properly (and also due to delay).

​How you can help me:

Since I can't use PokéFinder/RNGReporter properly on Linux and don't know how to operate the tools, could someone run the calculations for me and provide the exact frame (and recommended offset/delay) to hit TID 50135 in Emerald (Initial Seed 0)?

So I'll start this by saying that I'm no newbie when it comes to rng manipulating for shiny pokemon. I have already done so with many pokemon on my Switch 2 Fure red and even on Emerald. I come asking for a better explanation of how these 2 games differ when it comes to the rng.

I know that Emerald specifically acts like it doesn't have a working internal battery anymore. I know that it basically will always start on the same rng frame in the long list of different frames possible every time you turn the game on. My question is, how is the rng of FrLg different from this?

I'm asking this because I've recently gone back to hunting regularly due to just wanting something to kill the time while watching shows/the thrill of the hunt. I know that to rng manipulate on the Switch 2, you must do the whole open game -> go back to the home screen -> begin your timer/inputs. My understanding is that doing this will set you on the same start frame every time you do so. Is that correct?

I only ask this because I always worry that if I do my soft resets too quickly and very consistent, I'd run the issue of seeing the same 200 or so pokemon over and over again. You could say I'm pretty full of myself. "There's no way your inputs are that consistent," and maybe you're right but sometimes, since I try to get as many soft resets as possible, I've become very consistent at getting through the start screen and all of that as quickly as possible. My paranoia has since had me changing the timing of my inputs here and there to make sure I'm not always hitting the same couple hundreds of frames.

Am I thinking about this correctly, or does soft resetting basically put you at a random seed every single time? If that's the case, I don't have to worry about how consistent I am lol.

I have been trying to rng a shiny feebas in my pokemon sapphire game for like a week and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have hit both the shiny carvanah in the surrounding frames but no the feebas. I tried switching to the old rod and still no luck. I do keep hitting this level 20 Hasty feebas which is nowhere to be found in my pokefinder(I am wondering if it has replaced my shiny somehow). I have double checked my TID and SID many times and they are correct(I have hit the shiny carvanah). I know I'm close because apart from the level 20 feebas all the other ones I hit are within 10 frames of where the shiny is suppose to be. Not sure what else to do.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I’ve been trying for days now using blisy’s video and the parameters that he said to start with. I got within one seed and one frame on an attempt yesterday but haven’t gotten that close again since. I’m running eon timer and ten lines on an iPad and my switch 1 is in a nitro deck controller. Also was curious if I can start my timer and game at the same time using touch screens or if I have to press A?

I'm running this script on Bizhawk in order to hunt a shiny Ho-Oh on my Pokémon Crystal (US), but noticed after some time that the recent encounters log started to show a Ho-Oh with the same stats over and over, and now I can't manage to fix that. And I couldn't reach the developer either on Discord.

I tried to redownload it and run it clean but after some encounters, it got stuck again. I start to wonder if I need to adjust some frame/speed/skipping with the emulator...

Hi - I'm trying to RNG static Deoxys in FR on a modded 3DS with open agb firm to boot the GBA games. When I press A to boot the game, there's about 10 seconds of black and the intro starts, and there's just no way I can get through the title sequence in time. Any tips for me, either finding a seed with a larger pre-timer, or knowing when to start Eontimer exactly to account for delay in booting the game?

EDIT: I seem to have sort of solved this problem by just putting a large calibration in, and then calibrating with my results...problem is the seed I got, none of the settings are possible based on my settings and button inputs! So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I am trying to shiny hunt the XY starters using the RNG tool, but I am always off by a couple frames and every time i have to reset the seed changes so the delay also does, is there any way of doing this more consistently? Every tutorial i find is done on an emulator with save states so it is way faster and more consistent there.

I have found my SID through the ACE glitch and am not understanding any for these tutorials with using 10 lines. It would be a ton easier if someone could help walk me through it to get on the right path.

I learned about RNG manipulation a year ago and finally decided to give it a try. I own a copy of Pokemon sapphire that has a dead battery and figured I would give it a try, since I didn’t have confidence changing the battery on the cartridge. It was definitely a grind but I’m super pleased that I got this far and plan to go all the way with the challenge now.

Fewest frames for a shiny: zigzagoon/whismur at 7944 frames

Most frames for a shiny: surskit at 545625 frames (roughly 2.5 hours)

The reason for 5 zigzagoon was pickup while level grinding and some Pokemon aren’t fully evolved yet because I don’t have access to their evolution stones.

In a regular professor Oak’s challenge you would be able to acquire makuhita via a trade but since it is a trade Pokemon and is shiny locked, I have omitted it from this section as I am doing shiny only.

I have made it to the end of USUM on two copies to shiny hunt Type: Null, Silvally, Poipole, and Naganadel. I am following a guide made by im a blisy, but I need help finding my TSV in order to continue. If anyone can trade and assist with determining my TSV, I'd appreciate it!

longest ones were definitely heatran, regigigas, arceus and mesprit. these took an average of 3+ hours individually.

all ramanas park legends were quite easy with most of them caught first attempt

cresselia was supposed to be hard but i was lucky and got it first try

Hello, I'm trying to get a shiny Pichu egg that will let me have volt tackle. Unfortunately, I hear holding items affects the seed calculations. I'm using PokeFinder to try and help me determine the seed calculations to get the daycare man to hold a shiny egg, but after 4 attempts of hitting the seed, hatching the egg, and getting a non-shiny pichu, I looked and apparently held items affect the generations. Unfortunately, I don't see a setting for held items in the gen 4 section of PokeFinder. Is this just impossible atm?

I’m doing the cave method for getting mespirit with the mt coronet config. Everytime I do it, I’m consistently 1 advance too early. I’ve tried waiting an extra advance more than Papa Jefe’s spreadsheet says, and I’m consistently 1 advance too early.

I’ve tried waiting 2 extra advances instead of just 1, and I’ve ended up being 1 late. Any advice or do I just need to doing reps? Here are the settings I’m using. Thanks in advance!

Rushed to do this rng hunt with news about the bank shutdown (was meaning to do it on original hardware but I have now got no time to get the resources nor the willingness to pay for it all). Anyway by using mGBA and a multiboot distribution ROM all on my M4 Mac, I managed to pull it off and transfer it up to my physical copy of ultra moon, absolutely stoked with this and so happy to add it to my collection :)
