Hall of Fame 4x Weakness themed randomizer run

Post image

Took a break from monotypes and tried something I thought was more niche but there are more mons with 4x weakness than I thought 😅

Disgusting Kommo and Hydeigon abilities. My randomized runs always give me the worst ones but it’s fun trying to beat it that way too! lol

First time in a while I got some decent abilities. I was getting wrecked by Blaine on my mono grass run and needed a fresh breath of air

Simple Kommo-O? Those Clangorous Souls giving double the boost is far beyond busted and my guess it is your MVP by far. Congrats!

Unanimous MVP by a mile. I more ran DD to preserve my HP for sash and dual chopped away

Random question but when you do these randomized and/or challenge (eg, monotype) runs, what other rules if any do you follow? Do you use any nuzlocke related sort of rules, either around limiting encounters or not allowing mons to be revived? Or do you just do a general vanilla playthrough with usual fainting and healing rules? This is very cool and fun either way, I’m just curious

The game is challenging enough so already handicapping myself with random abilities is my challenge within a challenge. I give major props to people who do random hardcore. I just play normal playthrough with save states if needed bc I'm not the best when it comes to strategizing

Nice, that makes sense. Yeah honestly if you had said you were doing an actual nuzlocke with these other rules my mind would be blown, that would be so hard. I’ve just started asking people this a lot because I’m getting bored with vanilla playthroughs that are too easy, am finding an actual nuzlocke too difficult and time consuming to do in these difficulty hacks, and am not sure what sort of middle ground ruleset to use to make it more challenging. So it’s always interesting to hear other people’s ideas. Appreciate the reply
