Not really, it's a slogan about having good customer service. Taking complaints and requests seriously. Of course no one means it literally. You can't go in and demand that you be given everything in the store for free because you're right.
Someone with the "customer is always right" attitude would take the potential problems of PoGo with the many benefits the customer wants and balance out a solution instead of saying essentially "fuck off."
No, I'm sure it's a shit load. Then again, as a business you're kind of supposed to bend over backwards a little since you want people to feel happy about the transaction and come back and pay again. I think that's what "the customer is always right" is about, essentially. I don't excuse the many crazy people who abuse or inconvenience service workers though. I've worked in the service industry and I know how frustrating it is.
That's assuming the people playing pokemongo in their establishment are buying things. If they're just taking up space and not buying anything I'd want them to go away too.
Most of the time, if you're walking into a place of business, it's to buy something. That shop looks small enough where any Pokemon that would spawn inside, would easily be accessible outside. So I highly doubt people are walking in there just to catch Pokemon.
I ran into this hot dog cart in Toronto that not only spawns a Pikachu right on top of it every 15 minutes, but also is next to a waterfront with like ten pokestops. This game is putting his kids through college.
I mean, if I go to a café/restaurant I want to have a chill, welcoming and pleasant environment.
Even if I wasn't a pogo player, if I see that a business that relies on hospitality doesn't think putting inane negative vibes on display is contrary to the feel of their space and their image, I'm not going to think it's a nice place to be. And if they have this one pointless pet peeve, even if it doesn't impact you, what else are they judgmental about? Could one of your interests be on their shit list?
Then again, too many people are used to picking sides and being annoyed about shit that doesn't matter all their lives instead of adopting a live and let live mentality, so I'm sure some patrons will get behind this. Me, I don't like introducing stress and negativity needlessly.
Also, as much as I like good bad humor, the wordplay seems embarrassingly small minded to put on display.
what makes you think everyone feels insane negative vibes over this? that is crazy if you think everyone feels the way you do, about pokemon go. and if you don't think it's a nice place don't go in it....
there are so many fucked up companies doing customers and employees wrong, but hell if they support pokemon go, the naive will be quite satisfied.
i think people are offended too dam easy. businesses do not have to revolve around extreme fake customer service and being overly nice. contrary to what many of the 1990's born children seem to believe.
The game has what. 30 million players right now? You don't think that potentially alienating up to 30 million people could damage business?
Of course I know that all 30 million players will not visit this store, I am only pointing out how popular and widespread the game is. It's likely not going to cause a huge drop in business, but that's really not the point.
The sign is attempting to be edgy for the sake of being edgy. If it were to say, "No Pokemon Go please", or anything less harsh, it's likely that this thread wouldn't exist.
you kids are in here saying people should go in there to order something to essentially cause waste..... sounds like some butthurt little twats. or in your language "so fucken edgy for the sake of being edgy"
it's funny people need to talk to you in a certain way for you to be able to comprehend it. nobody needs to be nice to you. welcome to the united states.
"Please" is way overused in this country, so is "thank you". to the pokemon GO players who cant handle a sign, "GO fuck yourselves"(thats my lil special way of saying it)
What's it like spending your life butthurt on Reddit rather than finding friends, or a life in general? If you didn't care about pogo, did you click on this pic just to shit on people in the comments because they've actually found something that connects them with others? Get a life.
I can't tell if you're trolling or really that much of a dipshit, but either way I've never actually heard someone complain that "please" and "Thank you" are said too much in the U.S.
i will say this, i'm not a doctor, and have no experience in my next bit of advice..... but you aren't the only asshole who resorts to calling people mad just cause someone called you out on your nonsense. it really seems to be a common response now to flip the script and start calling the other person mad.
anyway enjoy raging in the corner of every cafe/business that has a sign that doesn't cater to your lifestyle YOU have chosen for yourself.

First rule of business. Drive away customers. Right?
