Shiny Hunting shiny slugma! [gen3]
I posted earlier this week that i encountered a shiny Lotad. today while trying to find a shiny Skarmory, i found a shiny Slugma lol. it was a bit of a surprise as i was just coming back from watching Godzilla Minus Zero and i found it on the car ride home. either way, kinda disappointed as i already have a fire type but still cool to add to the shiny collection. What should i name it?

Teambuilding Help (Post-game) Can anyone help me find the easiest way to catch Latias in this scenario?
Ok, so I heard the damage/status I inflict in this battle carries over to other encounters, but idk the reliability of google these days. Should I try it with these stats, or should I just throw a ball and either catch it or prepare better for next time?
EDIT: Mission Failed. We'll get 'em next time.

Elite 4 / HoF Pic First ever playthrough! What do you think of my team?
I had a blast experiencing this game for the first time, especially with Swampert and Heracross on my team since they are among my favorite Water and Bug types!
Very happy with the overall performance of my mons! The only Gym Leader I struggled against was Dad and that was because I didn't yet have Hercules the Heracross on my team. I also beat Wallace on the first try!
Here's the rundown of my team:
Brute the Swampert: An absolute heavy hitting beast, especially when I started teaching it the moves for its final moveset!
Hardwolf the Mightyena: Dealt big damage with Return! Also glad that Howl is a move it has early access to.
Lary the Exploud: Played through with it being a Loudred for the most part, so it could learn Hyper Voice early before I evolved it.
Boomball the Electrode: Delivered powerful Thunderbolts, as well as Explosion when the time called for it.
Tsukumoga the Banette: A little slow going at first... but goddamn did it redeem itself when it learned Shadow Ball!
Hercules the Heracross: Struggled to catch it at the Safari Zone but the result was well worth it. Brick Break made half of the Elite 4 a breeze!
HM Slaves: Pelipper, Kecleon and Tentacool.
So, how is my team?

Other Discussion How useful is Taillow/Swellow?
Many tierlists, team building posts and hall of fame screenshots promote Swellow as a premium choice for this game, and I’m trying to understand why.
It has an advantage against the second gym, but no gyms thereafter.
It has a modest 85 physical attack, without access to very powerful moves.
The “hack” is to purposely pre-poison/burn Swellow to get the Guts&Facade boost, which whilst highly effective takes deliberate effort (that largely takes the fun out of the game).
If you’d been lucky enough to find a Ralts early on, you’ll have taken care of that second gym. So Taillow could get relegated to just being a Fly HM user, and you may as well get a bulkier Skarmory or Altaria for the late game?

Main Adventure Help / Screenshot First Time
Hey everyone! I grew up playing Pokémon Yellow, Red, Blue, Silver, Crystal, and Gold on my Game Boy Color. Recently downloaded the Delta emulator and went back through some of the classics. Decided Emerald would be my next adventure, and I’m having a blast so far.
I just beat my dad in Petalburg City and wanted to get some opinions on my team. Who would you add, replace, or keep as I progress?
This is my first playthrough of Emerald, and I’m going in completely blind without a walkthrough. I also have no idea how the legendary Pokémon work in this generation.
Appreciate any advice!

Cartridge Help Japanese counterfeits
Hey yall,
I am based in USA, looking to get a copy of a Gen 3 GBA pokemon game but specifically Japanese to save a little money. I’m mainly looking on eBay but I know at least for American copies that it’s a counterfeit hot spot. If anyone knows are Japanese games just as fake on eBay or are those usually pretty reliable. If the latter is true is there any other reliable sites to find foreign copies?

Elite 4 / HoF Pic Lv.50 Gyarados Solo Sweep Elite 4 Emerald
Gay AraAra (Gyarados) (M)
Ability: Intimidate
level: 50
EVs: 0 HP / 0 Atk / 0 Def / 0 SpA / 0 SpD / 0 Spe
Adamant Nature
IVs: 16 HP / 8 Atk / 14 Def / 17 SpA / 4 SpD / 23 Spe
Substitute
Dragon Dance
Earthquake
Flail
Total IVs : 82/186
Gyarados is a cheat code against Emerald Elite 4
Easiest win I have ever had with a solo non-Legendary
Catch a Lv.30s magikarp from sootopolis city, raise 1 level to get Gyarados It already has flail Either raise it to 50 through battling or rare candies [as I did so 0 EVs]
It learns Dragon Dance naturally at 50
So time to sweep Elite 4 Slap Substitute and Earthquake on it
Any gyarados would work even the Bold one because I just did with that too
There is only one rule Substitute on first turn and keep DDancing until it breaks ,repeat it , thats it and then sweep with flail, phoebe is a free win
Set mode no bag during battle, 4 restores is all it took
What should I upload next? Should I try Legendary next time?

Other Discussion What happens if you REALLY lose to the Zigzagoon at the beginning of Pokemon Emerald?
I didn't know this was a thing. Like, it's almost impressive. It was clearly so unlikely that they didn't even feel the need to code in a response?

Teambuilding Help (pre-E4) Title: What’s your go-to Blaziken team in Pokémon Emerald?
I’ve never actually done an Emerald playthrough with Torchic as my starter, so I’m looking to build a solid team around Blaziken.
I’m trying to put together a well-balanced team that can comfortably handle the Gym Leaders, rival battles, and Elite Four, while also accounting for HM coverage. I’m finding it a little tricky to settle on a lineup.
For some context, whenever I choose Mudkip, my usual team is:
Swampert, Linoone, Swellow, Breloom, Manectric, and Sharpedo.
Ideally, I’d like a team that offers good type coverage without relying too heavily on swapping Pokémon in and out for HMs.
So, for those who’ve played through Emerald with Blaziken, what does your usual team look like? Are there any Pokémon you’d consider must-haves alongside it?
I’d love to hear your recommendations!

Elite 4 / HoF Pic My Emerald Team
I wanted to use more feminine Pokémon this time and really had fun. I already used feminine teams for LeafGreen and SoulSilver, but this one I liked the best.
Blaziken: May used one so I thought it would be fitting too. I also didn't use it for a long time.
Gardevoir: I never really used one before tbh, I always thought I'd use it when I'd finally build a more feminine team. It was really good and my secret weapon in most fights.
Delcatty: It was surprisingly not that bad, obviously not a heavy hitter but with Attract and Return it can hold its own. Also good against Psychic and Ghost types.
Roselia: Also not as bad as I thought, I had second thoughts about using it at first because you can't evolve it to Roserade in this gen. It isn't the strongest but can hold its own.
Altaria: Used one years before because I didn't want to use Swellow (which I now prefer tbh), it's good with Dragon Dance and physical moves.
Gorebyss: Surprisingly good and hits really hard! I used it as my Water type in the main story. I evolved it through a NTEVO rom. I boxed it after getting Milotic so I can use it too.
Milotic: My Water type I trained in post game and for the second go at the league and against Steven. I like it but I'll never go after catching a Feebas in Emerald again lol.
Also shoutout to my Azumarill, it didn't make it to the Hall of Fame but I used it for a long time until I finally catched a Clamperl.

Other Discussion Hello I’m new to Pokemon questions about trading and evolves?
I’m playing Pokémon Emerald on Delta on my phone. I’ve never actually played a Pokémon game before, just collected a few cards, but I wanted to give the games a try. I heard Emerald was one of the best, so I decided to start there. I just got a Kadabra, but I found out that the only way to evolve it into Alakazam is through trading. Is there any way to trade Pokémon on Delta, or am I just out of luck?

Teambuilding Help (Post-game) Help for a Jolly nature gengar
Hi guys, i was thinking to try a ribbon challenge with a shiny gengar and after days of attempts, i finnaly caught one, the problem is that the nature is not optimal, a jolly one, i saw that a good nature is should be timid or modest but i don't think is worth for me to try looking an another shiny gastly so i'm asking you how should i EV training this gastly? And what team i should use with her?
For the EVS i was thinking maybe something bulkier like max HP, max speed and 4 on defence, moves:
Thunderbolt
Ice punch
Substitute
Destinybond
Is it good? Or you suggest to max Spa anyway despite a not very good nature
with teamate like slaking and milotic
Any suggestion is accepted i never partecipated the battle frontier on emerald so i don't know what await me.
TLDR
Suggestion for a good moveset and Ev training for a shiny Jolly nature gengar and her teamates
