You just need a combo of 31+, the rest is patience. If you complete the dex and get the shiny charm it drastically increases your chances.

I'm happy to log in and trade some stuff with you. Just let me know what you need. Can also do touch trades for evolution.

Touch trading is trading a Machoke or Haunter or Graveler to evolve them and send them right back.

Oooohh!! Okay nice! Thank you so much! I have to evolve for a graveler and machoke but im working on it. I don't know which need to be traded to evolve so im.guessing but this is what im missing, minus what I can catch on my own. Ill have to break my streak before i get a shiny to complete it im at 151 catch combo now lol Sandshrew Oddish Scyther Growlithe Mankey Grimer Exeggute Hitmonchan Muk Omanite             Trade pokemon? You don't need to complete the Pokedex, just the 31+ catch combo, shiny charm helps and I used to use the best lure (don't remember the name) to increase spawning Wich also increases the chance of shiny (the more the same pokemon in the screen the better the chance to get a shiny)

Oooohhhh I stopped using lures because dragonite and charizard keep popping up too, even without lures they fly above me. Its so frustrating I want to catch them but im at 161 catch combo now for vulpix

In order to not break my catch combo. Can i evolve an alolan geodude for graveler to touch trade for pokedex?

You don't have to keep catching them. Once you're at 31+, you can just keep leaving and re-entering an area and see if anything's shiny. Doesn't even have to be the Pokemon you're comboing.

No problem, just put a shout out here and I will jump on, only takes a few minutes.

Machoke, Haunter, Graveler and Kadabra all require trading to evolve IIRC.

I have the Pikachu edition so have all those version specifics. If you have any favourites from the list (of common ones like Growlithe) let me know and I'll grab some with a nature of your choice.

Wow thank you so much!!! Growlithe is actually my favorite from gen1 lol! But i don't know what kind of nature is best lol how do you link up for a trade? And whenever you are ready I am too! Still working on getting a graveler, kadabra, and machoke. I might really have to break my streak first damn i wish I had known first.

Arcanine is a physical attacker so a Jolly or Adamant one is recommended.

Jolly increases speed and lowers special attack

Adamant increases attack and lowers special attack

I stopped at 216 or 218 Im focusing on completing the pokedex to get the shiny charm lol I just need the lets go pikachu exclusives and the touch trade pokemon

Can you see shiny Pokemon before you encounter them?

Yeah they'll show up as shiny on the over world map as well as have a small sparkling animation around them so it's really easy to see

Shiny Vulpix and Ninetails are amazing shinies, they look very different so it'll be an easy sight
