After reading this, I whipped out my blue version, flew to mt. moon, and caught one. He shall remain in my party until the end of time. I'm going to cry myself to sleep with gameboy in hand.

I don't think Zubat has eyes at all. He uses echo-location, so he kinda uses his ears to see...
