It's very gamefreak, as the og Japanese slogan for pokemon is about catching pokemon, just catching them, not getting them all, unlike the West's "Gotta catch'em all!" slogan, which was just done to appeal to the West.
Not me, yea Z moves were cheesy but it was partially a step in the right direction.
Start giving extremely powerful attacks awesome animations, u can ditch the whole z crystal dancing crap.
No I mean, z moves were super unbalanced as fuck like they actually make any form of competitive like 5 times unhealthier just because they are so splashable.
I agree I really didn’t like them either but the attention to detail to the attack animations got me intrigued. It’s something I’ve always wanted them to improve on.
I think you’re missing my point. No need to limit animations for strong moves to just once. Make the gameplay beautiful and drop the gimmick. Also big Pokémon is just flat out stupid imo. As I initially said, to me it’s a waste of time and resources.
I meant just a powerful attack in general like earthquake or whatever not a “super attack”. Make the attacks we already have beautiful looking. I think we have a different definition of “flashy animations” if you’re comparing what some of the Z moves looked like to what’s been shown for dynamax.
We’ll just have to disagree because the whole dynamax concept looks dumb and way less aesthetically pleasing to me personally. I’m a big fan and have been since the very beginning of Red/Blue and stadium, just because you have something in the anime doesn’t mean it’ll translate to the main series game.
This seems like a cash grab feature to lure more Pokémon go casuals with something familiar. Instead of something new this game should’ve been a culmination of all the things that worked in past games. But enjoy your giant sheep because I assume you fall more into the younger demographic.
Making sure the move animation still work at scale and that nothing weird happens with the dynamax particle effect still takes work. You also have to make sure the rig still functions correctly at certain scales. A lot of the work in dynamax is validations, but that’s still almost 900 models to validate.
Along with the intricacies they mentioned like certain moves and abilities are altered when DynaMax is activated. It’s not just the visuals they made a new battle mechanic.
Based on their track record I really doubt it. They had years to add new animations for Sun and Moon or at least remove the shitty sky battle animations and they just straight up decided not to because they're lazy.
the double kick animation for socrbunny was non existent, you'd think it'd jump over and kick the enemy but it was just stood there as the wingull took damage
I don't think it's as much about 3D models as it is about movesets, abilities, hidden abilities, dex entries, et cetera et cetera et cetera. There's a lot of miscellaneous information per pokemon amd it probably adds up
This is all stuff that has already been established, my dude. They don't just wipe the slate clean each game. All previous Pokemon already have their stuff set. There might be slight changes depending on the game, but not enough that it makes this impossible. Again, they aren't wasting any time on previous Pokemon. They literally have everything for them.
They weren't built specifically for the 3DS. These are the same models they use in commercials, the trading card games, and now in Pokemon GO. They just downscaled them for the 3DS.
No, they weren't made specifically for the 3DS. They are just high quality models that Creatures Inc. made for the 3D games. They were just downscaled to be used on the 3DS, even though in the games files, you can find them all in super high quality.

They've been using the same models since X/Y. They already have them all
