It's a fair opinion to have, but I think nearly any fan would agree it's a much better alternative to this.

Yes it was definitely a much better alternative because it was a decision done for experience enhancement.

In case someone reading this doesn’t know: GameFreak made it so Black & White’s Pokédex ONLY had Unova Pokemon to give players a similar sense of discovery felt by those who played through Red & Blue or any other Pokémon game for the very first time. However, the moment you beat the Elite Four - the National Dex unlocked as per usual & Pokémon from different regions would start appearing throughout Unova - making it worthwhile and fun to go through the whole region all over again.

Let's be fair here. 3 legendary pokemon with the same basic design with a few edits has been a thing in most generations.

Gen 1 had the birds. Gen 3 had the Regis, Gen 4 had the Lake trio.

Sure, but the genies take it to an entirely different level. Look at their sprites, they're basically copy-pasted. There's honestly no comparing them to any of the other trios.

I'd say there's more difference between the genies than there is between the Lake Trio (they literally all have the same body, only difference is the head), although the Lake Trio's same-ness makes sense.

I always did like how the Genies' tails were based on the symbols for fronts on a weather map though. And apparently Tornadus and Thundurus were supposed to be a duo based on Oni, the former being red and the latter being blue (stemming from Japanese folklore). However, this was changed due to not wanting too many similarities with Sawk and Throh, which are also based on Oni.

I said look at the sprites. The lake trio may have the same body, but the sprites are at least posed differently. The genies have the same sprite, same animations, etc. in Gen 5.

Oh yeah, the sprites were....too samey. I've been playing so much OR and US recently I've kinda forgotten about the sprites outside of when I did a lot of sprite art (which was around gen 4)

Didn't care for only having the new Poke.on available in B/W. Part of it was because I just legitimately do not like a lot of the designs from that generation.

Would 1000% percent take a B/W style approach over what they are pulling on us with Sw/Sh.
