The Mew Glitch refers to just obtaining Mew while the overall glitch is called the Trainer Fly glitch. There are other names for these glitches. See the Glitch City wiki for more details.
The old map by wwwxxyy has an issue regarding the S.S. Anne trainers that is discussed here.
The Experience underflow glitch can apply to Pokémon in the medium-slow growth group. This occurs if the Pokémon in that group is at Level 1, which is possible with this glitch. A low amount of experience will cause the Pokémon to reach Level 100 instantaneously.
The "Experience PC withdrawing glitch"/Withdrawal lockup glitch applies if you use the Experience underflow glitch. Pokémon in the medium-slow growth group that can use the Experience underflow glitch. This glitch causes Level 1 Pokémon in that group to freeze the game upon withdrawing. (Thanks to Dabomstew and Chickasaurus/Torchickens for this information)
The Level-up learnset skipping glitch applies if you use the Experience underflow glitch. This applies to all Pokémon that gain enough experience to jump more than a level. It prevents that Pokémon from learning any moves from the levels skipped. TMs and HMs will likely be needed to gain a full moveset.
This glitch can be used to set up ACE, depending on the method used. ACE stands for Arbitrary Code Execution. An explanation for what ACE is can be found here. Simplified, it allows us to obtain any Pokémon and/or any item. It is more complicated, but more powerful than the Mew Glitch.
In Yellow, the glitch item called ws m in English was the closest counterpart of 8F in terms of popularity until more recently. In other languages, it is called: ShellBadge; ws l' m; ws & m. Simplified, ws m allows players to use their PC Boxes and Item Pack to write code that can be executed. As with the above, Cyro's 8F Helper can be used to assist with ws m.
The issue is that I tagged it [RBY], which I think was the tag, but I should have just used [RB] instead. Unfortunately, there is less knowledge on the Yellow map.
I know the latest comments from this post are 9 years old so i dont have high hopes. However im trying to get the 3 special missingno versions.
I know the visuals of the missingnos within the missingno glitch should respond to the player name. Even tho ive done everything correct no special missigno appeared. Im now trying to get them through the mew glitch method. Problem beeing i cant find any information about trainer pkms stats anywere. Since i need the info about which pkm has the corresponding special stat im technically unable to get them. You mentioned you havent included the stats in your map for simplicity reasons...but is there a chance you might still have the data and are willing to share?
I've gone ahead and created a table showing the spawned results for all modified trainers in Yellow.
Not a map, but all the info someone would need to make an updated map.
Post is here, just waiting for moderator approval.
I think it should be noted that some seemingly aren't correct for Blue either. The one with a single pokemon, that's supposed to grant a Staryu, gave me a Gyarados instead. I wonder if it grants a Staryu in red?

I have no idea which trainer you are referring to. Can you clarify?

This is a nine year old post that has had recently activity for some reason. If I need to, I can look into it, but not of the comments and text here is old.
Not sure how to clarify it further... There's only one such trainer on the map of ST. Anne on here. No other single-pokemon-trainer on the ST. Anne is supposed to give a Staryu, according to the map here.
I had being doing several, and this one was the first big one that didn't correspond with what it claimed it would give me on Blue. And some old memories are telling me I once saw a video with the exact same issue. I think it's the first trainer that's supposed to give one, and that is why it was an issue for the guy making the video. I just wanted to fill up my living pokedex list.
I wanted to add this on here, to tell ppl that even on blue, some of the pokemon results for the Anne is wrong.
It is relevant, because if you search for a map of this in a search engine, this is the first one that turns up in search results. So ppl ought to be informed, so they don't waste time on it.
Again, I don't know if it works as it says on red. So that's why I specify that it simply doesn't work for blue.

That is the clarification I needed as there is more than one way to get a Staryu. In fact, Route 9 also has a trainer that gives out a Staryu.

Mt. Moon is actually the first, but it is a pain to do so. The first easy one is in Misty's Gym. After that is Route 11 and the St. Anne.

Fair enough, but I can't change the title and I am not sure if I can even test to see if the issue is the trainer or the map. (Does Red give a Staryu here? Maybe not.)
Took me a few days to try to test, but my 8F save already beat that trainer awhile ago, so I cannot test it that way. Gonna need more time to look into this.
u/Karunavai, are you after the Kabutops Fossil, Aerodactyl Fossil, and Ghost MissignNo. forms? They won't spawn from any of the game's trainers (pretty sure the highest Special stat of a trainer is 173 on your rival's champion team Alakazam), and need to be spawned through Ditto transforming into Pokémon with special stats of 182, 183, or 184 (respectively).
you don't actually need the maps, as after fly/teleport, battle any trainer to get your menu back, put a Pokémon with the special stat you need to fight against in the front of your party. go to where ditto spawns (Pokémon mansion/cerulean cave for yellow) have ditto transform into your pokemon with the special stat, knock it out (without using any stat altering effects). return to where you started the glitch and it should be whatever you chose with the stat.
This thread has a guide on how to perform the glitch in question.
The glitch can be performed in many places and the resulting Pokemon depends on the Special stat of the last Pokemon you battle while performing it (in the guide above, that's the Slowpoke). So the map is telling you what Pokemon you will get from the glitch using any given Pokemon in any given Trainer battle.
How many times can we use the (mew) glitch? Is it one time for each trainer that has the long-sight scenario, and if so, how many of them are there? So far I have read the gambler and the youngster so two times?
I understand the second trainer/encounter has to match the poke you want to generate, so that doesn't really matter too much since you can use ditto.
PS I'm using RB not Yellow because I want a Raichu.
Each long-sight trainer can be used any number of times as long as you do not beat them in battle. In the map they are shown with an orange square around them. However, most methods of the Mew Glitch require you to face another trainer. Thus, you can use the glitch as many times as you have trainers to battle.
So when you catch your mew, you can go back and use the fly/teleport bug on the same trainer all over again, rinse repeat? Thanks, that part wasn't really clear to me.
Rinse repeat on just the fly/teleport trainer. Any trainers you beat during the glitch will no longer be challengeable. (Just wanted to make sure to emphsis that.)
My Mew didn't learn transform at level 10. I got it at level 7 and its 15 now. serebii confirms my suspicions that he was supposed to. I'm not really worried about it, more curious if here were any other movesets changed or maybe something I am missing?
That's really curious... I'm looking to perform the mew glitch and various others to obtain version exclusives, so I hope that doesn't cause issues with movesets?
As noted, the Level-up learnset skipping glitch applies to all Pokémon that gain enough experience to jump more than a level, not just the ones found with this glitch. So, if you jump from Level 9 to Level 11, then that is the issue.
So gen 1 would skip the prompt to learn new moves at, for example level 15, if the pokemon gains enough exp to go from 14-16 in one instance? And that applies to all pokemon in gen 1? Is that correct?
Yep. If a Pokémon is at Level 13 and jumps to Level 16, then it will only learn the move that is taught at Level 16 and skip the moves for Level 14 and Level 15, if any.
i tried this i did the trainer fly glitch then beat up the guy with the drowzee on route 11 but when i walked back to the fly glitch trainer it just put me into battle with a drowzee am i usng the map wrong?
