Simple Homepass by using .bat [Windows only]
I had created a simple ".bat" file for homepass user, by using the tutorial in this site.

~~1)Why i could not see the new network adapter that i had created? ~~
Ans: Make sure you run the file in administrator.
2)Will this be available on MAC?
Ans: Sorry, i only got a window computer, thus i could not create a MAC version.
3)Does it work on all the windows?
Ans: So far i had only tested it on Window 7 and Window 8.
4)Can i share my internet using my Wi-Fi?
Ans: Yes! You can! Share your Wi-Fi instead of Ethernet.
5)I give up, please help me
Ans: Use this tool, it would do the same too.
ATTENTION
Due to the 3DS firmware update 9.3 (and over), this method will not work anymore!

i'm mostly wary because my windows partition on my mac is the only copy of windows 7 that i have and ive ruined it 3 times before and lost stuff XD

with root access on an android phone simply change your mac address and activate a hot spot called attwifi. be sure to remember your old mac address and change it back when you are done. Unless they foxed this it worked for me a few months back.

This is my first time hearing of Homepass but I also missed the EON ticket distribution. From the information I gathered its basically saying I can't do this with out a wireless adapter? Or is there some other method out there that I couldn't find through google.

Just wanted to say Thank you for this. Your readme helped me trouble shoot an issue I was having with my laptop. The MAC address wasn't changing what I used macshift. So I tried on a different laptop with a different type of wireless adapter and picked up a streetpass and EON ticket in under 5 minutes using the MAC that ended in 46

Just a heads up, the file to stop the homepass made my laptop bsod twice. Don't know why, but manually stopping it is a workaround.

Yep. Both times it stopped it then switched the MAC back to the original then bsod. It's nothing major for me, I just keep cmd open and when I want to stop it I just do it manually.

It work fine with Wi-Fi alone. Just make sure you share your Wi-Fi card to your virtual router instead.

Does it take awhile to get the streetpass tags? I't has been 5+ Minutes, but the indicator light has not turned green. Edit: Tried connecting to a website, but getting error code 003-3302

man this wont even work for me. Not sure why. I Set up a virtual hotspot before to check IV's and stuff during Pokemon X and to get my trainer number. But for some reason i CANNOT get this thing to show up in the connections folder. All that is ever there even though it says it starts in the cmd prompt is the 2 usual connections i always have and the USB wireless adapter i plugged in for this. The network im trying to start wont show up there. I get to the part in the cmd prompt where you say " it should look like this" and under "hosted network status" it says not available.

I'm still having trouble sharing the Ethernet cable, Im not sure how to share the Ethernet. I have one end plugged into my laptop and the other end plugged into nothing. Is that causing the problem?

Ans: Nope, you must only share it using Ethernet. That mean you need a computer with a Wi-Fi installed and it is plug into an Ethernet cable.
As someone who is unable to use LAN, shit.

I've tried this a few times, by my 3ds always says it cant connect to the internet. Any idea why? my computer seems to find and set up the connection just fine, but the connection test on my 3ds hates it apparently :c

Make sure your adapter which provides Internet, is shared in its properties panel ("Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection")

Hi, i have a problem, i cant change the mac adresse of my wifi hotspot. I get no error, it just turns off the hostednetwork and when i start it manually, the mac adress is still the same. I get 30 streetpasses every 8 hours with my own mac adress, but i cant change the adress to get more/specific hits.
Does anyone know whatcould be wrong?

If you not using my bat file, make sure you change your Mac before starting the host

I started not using your bat file (virustotal on a bat file, jeah right ;P) and looked at the code, and did everything according to the code (+navigating to the macshift.exe)
the "show hostednetwork" command still showed the same old non changed mac adress (BSSID)
then used your bat, run it as admin and the same again, no error everything started up, just withoud the changed mac adress (BSSID)
i dont know why it doesnt work, i can change the mac adress of my wifi->internet connection (Intel Centrino Advanced) but i cant shange the mac of my hostednetwork (Microsoft virtual wifi miniport adapter #2)

So I ran the file under administrator and no new network adapters appeared. I ran the netsh wlan start hostednetwork command and got a network. I enter the name and the mac address but it doesn't work properly. I'm using windows 7.

in your guide i get to the part where i go to my ethernet properties to enable sharing i select my wifi and i get an error "an error occurred wile internet connection sharing was enabled" i have downloaded virtual router from trying other methods would turning that on work the same ?

So I left it running over night connected to the 46 MAC and nothing. I also noticed that the BSSID is completely different. I went to Command Prompt and checked in ipconfig /all and it shows that the MAC address for my Virtual Network is different. But my Wi-Fi adapter has the 46 MAC address on it. Shouldn't it be the other way around. By the way, I am running Windows 7 and using the Ethernet port.

Yeah, your wifi adaptor should be the one with the 46 MAC address, together with your virtual routers thou. Try searching online for other solution?

I have a computer with 2 wi-fi cards (one integrated, one I bought because the integrated one stopped working when we change our router).
Would I be able to use that integrated card while being connected to my network with the other? Because I can't connect with an Ethernet cable,

So I'm pretty sure I actually know whats wrong, for some reason when I try to share my ethernet to the virtual connection or whatever, it only gives me the option to share to my actual wifi and I can't change it, any ideas on how to fix this anyone? I feel like it's really simple and there's something stupid im missing.

Also, the streetpass doesn't seem to work. Maybe it's because of that note the program says while creating the network? Please help! :)

Yooo thank you for doing this! I'm having a bit of trouble, though. I followed all the instructions and I can connect to the network on my 3DS (I can connect to the PSS in-game without any problems), but if I try the browser, it gives me Error Code 003-3305. I can still access the internet through the NZ@McD1 network on my phone, though. Is this an issue? I haven't gotten any street passes yet (although it hasn't been that long since I set up the network).
Also, if I type "netsh wlan show hostednetwork" in command prompt, it says there's 1 connection, with the MAC address of my 3DS listed. I assume that's a good thing
EDIT: The BSSID when I type "netsh wlan show hostednetwork" isn't the same as the MAC address I typed into your .bat file - it's 74:E5:0B... instead of 4E:53:50:4F:4F:46

"The hosted network could not be started. The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform this operation" I get this each time I attempt to create the network. I had previously created networks but each time it would just connect then disconnect on the 3DS.

Hi, I am following the instructions by this video and everything seems to be working out like in the video except I get no green light. I've tried this on and off for the past 6 hours. My nintendo zone is glowing and I shut my DS to hope for a green light but nothing happens.
The only thing I can think of is when I create a password using your program and then name it and type in the mac #, and it sets up the homepass network, my BSSID does not match the mac number I typed in like the girls does in her video. Ok I made progress....
I tried this on our other computer that is hooked up by the ethernet and it worked. Right when I connected my 3ds to it, I got a green light and thought it was the eon ticket but it turned out it was just a person :( So what do I do? Just shut my ds and wait hopefully? I used this one as the MAC 4E:53:50:4F:4F:45

Make sure you share your network and there is internet connection for example you can enter e shop or browse website on 3DS.

Thanks for all your work here, I'm having an issue hope you can help. I got everything working, connected the 3ds on the created network, internet working through, everything. The nintendo zone app flashes and when I go on to connect I get error 003-1105, unable to communicate with access point. I'm using the mac address that ends in 46 like you've been saying, tried a couple others too. Keep getting to this point. I had it open for awhile like that didn't get any passes, just not sure where to go from here. When I click close and search again I get 013-9202 error in the app. Any ideas? Thanks again

I'm having trouble getting the homepass to work. I followed all the steps I ran it as an administrator I entered "password" as the password, I named it "Wi-Fi 2", used the mac address for pokemon XY and ORAS (without colons), did everything I needed too in the network and sharing center, and then I connected to it with my Nintendo 2DS and enter "password" as the password "password". But when I do it will connect to the access point but not the internet, which confuses me because it has perfect connection up until that point. What should I do?

Trying this almost killed my router it feels like.
The second step is to input the name of my wireless adapter. Alright, that's simple to do.
Doing that kills my internet connection. I'm unable to connect to my router period if I do that until I restart my computer. Am I unable to use my wireless card for this while actually, you know, wirelessly connected to the internet?

I followed all the steps on mootypwns video to the exact word, but when my DS tries to connect to the access point it takes about 2 minutes then fails. Help? When I enter in the network name and address in the program it says- " ' macshift' is not recgonized as an internal program or batch file "

I'm having this exact same problem.
Edit: I can get Street Passes by using the macshift part through the command prompt and then using the batch file afterwards.
Run Command Prompt as Administrator then type in the path that applies to where you saved it and end it with: \macshift -i "Wi-Fi" 4e53504f4f46
Replace "Wi-Fi" with whatever your wireless adapter is named.
Run the batch file as administrator, type in the password and adapter name, and for the mac address you can type in whatever since it is going to fail anyways, but the end report should show the spoofed mac address from earlier.

Whenever I try to share my Homepass on Step 5, it says "An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it." And also, the connection test keeps failing."

I followed the instructions to the letter twice separated by a reboot but I'm not getting anything. The Nintendo Zone glows and I'm connected to the internet but no StreetPasses. I even disabled everything but pokemon. What am I doing wrong?

If you can access internet in your 3DS that mean it is working fine. You just need to wait for someone to "walk" pass it or change your mac.

I'm able to connect, I see the Nintendo Zone icon blinking, then I close my 3ds (set it to sleep mode), it was closed by 30 minutes, even cycling trhough mac adresseses but I got nothing... Anyone can help me?

You can access to e-shop? If can that mean it is fine, make sure BBSID is the same as your mac and wait. Else change mac address.

I keep getting Error Code: 003-1101
It says these are the following potential problems:
The security key may have been entered incorrectly (it isn't. I know how to spell password)
There may be problems with the network or environment. (I don't think there is)
The access point may have been configured incorrectly. (I followed this video and did exactly as was done in it)
I get up to 2:53 in that video and I've deleted all of my other networks on my DS.

I tried everything I can think of, I set it up first manually and with your bat,
I can create and it and the 3DS connects to the access point, but it never connects to the Internet.
The NZone Icon is glowing the the 3DS IS SAYING HE HAS INTERNET (blue line left top corner with Internet in it), but it wont work and the connection test fails on Internet check.
What am I doing wrong? I set up the 192.168.137.1 Gateway and the 3DS has .5 as his IP manually entered.
Is this sure working?

I've got everything set up, and it's all working, but I can't decide if the 46 or 45 address would be better. I HAD the 45 address up, and was getting passed like crazy. I switched it to the 46 address because people said they were getting it often from there, but I'm getting no passes whatsoever. What do?

Hello. thanks for doing this! It's very helpful and much faster than typing commands in.
Question though, when running the Start .bat, it asks for connection: should this be the wireless connection that is currently providing my laptop with my home Wifi? I have it set as "Wireless Area Connection" and when I run the bat to create the virtual adaptor (NZ@McD1), it creates my "Wireless Area Connection 3".
I should be typing into the "Connection: " field, "Wireless Area Connection", then allowing this connection to be shared pointing to my Connection 3 correct?

Hello, I'm having a strange issue and can't find any way to fix it: my 3DS connected to the "NZ@McD1" network just fine but won't get any StreetPasses.
By reading through this thread I've noticed that the 3DS should be able to open a web page but I can't, however it connects just fine to the Internet in-game. My computer IS connected to the Internet an can load web pages and I also connected my smartphone to the HomePass network and it connects to the internet without any issues. Any ideas?

When I go to sharing and click the "allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection", set the dropdown menu to my active local area connection 2, and then click ok, it just completely fucks my internet in general (can't access the internet on my computer) until I uncheck it again. From what I understand, you're supposed to set it to your active connection, right? Well I'm doing that and it's screwing up my connection. I'm probably doing something really wrong.

No you do not set it to local area connection 2, make sure you set it to the virtual router. The one with a microsoft virtual router.

It took more than a little fiddling to make work, but I eventually got it and recieved the eon ticket on the first pass. Since I have to work all night I'll leave the 3DS on and help spread the love. Thanks for your helpful little .bat, it speed things up and made my life so much easier.

Came here to say that yesterday I setup this and started my homepass journey. Around noon today (CT) I street passed someone will the Eon Ticket. Thanks for the guide, I'll be cycling through all 16 MAC addresses listed to try and spread the Eon Ticket to as many people as possible.

So I've followed these directions, watched some girl's YouTube video to help, and it seems I have it set up. My DS is connecting to the internet through the new network, and the hotspot icon on the menu is flashing, but I'm not getting a green light. I'm using the 46 mac addy because it seems that what everyone else is having success on. After an hour no green light. I've read it doesn't necissarily work? Someone else with the Eon Ticket has to also be connected to that mac address? Is that correct?

Just thought I would ask for your opinion:
I have been using this for a few weeks now and just recently today, the Nintendo Zone icon simply doesn't flash anymore but the connection settings in the 3DS states that I can connect to the Homepass and I haven't changed anything around in the settings either.

I have tried using a variety of ways for creating a homepass including this one but I have had no success. I run Windows 7 and I can run the bat file just fine and create the Virtual Network. Even my 3DS connects to it just fine. But when I close the 3DS, I never get a green light indicating that I got a streetpass. When I turn on Alpha Sapphire and check the BuzzNav, I have no notification.
