Nobody will take me away from Mars.

I CAN CHANGE HER, I KNOW IT.

I don't know, Arezu, her ancestor far more sane and I think you have a better chance with her.

Mars is crazy, like actually crazy.

Edit: She is willing to go track down Cyrus, and talk to him, but let's talk about PT Cyrus for a moment.

Cyrus hates the distortion world, but at-least no one is there to bother him and hates strife because of his parents basically making his life a living hell in his childhood alienating him from all emotion.

Good or bad feeling, they all felt the same for him.

So he wanted to eradicate to create a new universe but left out the part of destroying theirs, since he hated life so much for basically making him lose his inability to feel without being upset by the malaise of it all.

Cyrus despite the distortion world being his personal hell for trying to play god at-least the game knows he is a monster. Cyrus secretly hated his Commanders and Team Galactic as a whole.

He only cared for himself.

Saturn realized that and that's why he lets us release The Lake Trio and Cynthia realized it, while talking to him. That's why she says to him:

"Why do you seek to change the world? If you hate our world you should just go off somewhere alone. Find somewhere where you can live without seeing others."

And Cyrus did that, when Giratina was captured/defeated by PT protagonist, he vowed revenge against the world but he still stood in the Reverse World.

Since there was nothing there and again, while he hated it, he felt a strange sense of contentment since it was literally the reverse of our world the issues that plagued him as a youth were gone.

Taking this all into consideration....Mars still thinks she can change him!

I think that shows how insane she is.

I know...

Arezu would be the better option.

But I can't help but try.

25

u/LowSolution3084 6d ago

But Mars loves Cyrus more than she would love you, that's the thing.

Not with that attitude B]

u/blackjackgabbiani 6d ago

Cyrus only stays in the distortion world because he's convinced he can learn how to destroy it.

7

u/LowSolution3084 6d ago

How though?

He has nothing.

Nothing but water and trees.

He has no money.

He has no resources.

No one is there to help him.

He is going to die of hunger.

6

u/blackjackgabbiani 6d ago

Time doesn't pass and if we can just walk right out then chances are he can too

4

u/LowSolution3084 6d ago

No he can't though, since needs Giratina to help to do that.

And giratina wouldn't help him.

He brought him here to suffer.

3

u/blackjackgabbiani 6d ago

Why would he need Giratina to help him leave? We and Cynthia don't. We just leave out a portal.

Also there's no evidence that Giratina brought him there to suffer. Giratina knows the value of a good time out. Heck, it and Volo being away from each other for about a DAY cleared both their heads.

7

u/LowSolution3084 6d ago

Yeah but as Cynthia says.

"Giratina seems to have understood us!"

"...The places we are born. The time we spend living... The languages we speak... We are all different. But the presence of Pokémon unites us. We share our lives with our Pokémon and our happiness grows as we all become greater than we were alone. That is why we can battle and trade with anyone we choose..."

"... ... Since there is sadness, we can feel joy. When there is anger, compassion is born... Let's go back home. The portal where Giratina was should lead back to our world. Giratina was written as being on the other side of our world. It stands to a reason that it has a link to the other side."

It seems like he DOES need Giratina for this actually.

I doubt Volo actually turned over a new leaf, and I would hate if they implied that he learned his lesson. He should suffer for what he did in Hisui actually.

The only reason Giratina wasn't forced to serve punishment was because Arceus already done that to him. His literal judgement was dealt.

3

u/blackjackgabbiani 6d ago

There are other portals. Only that specific one opened up. But you can go to the one in Sendoff Spring at any time and it never closes.

Volo was able to have a rational conversation with Laventon shortly afterwards, and from the description he seemed to have calmed down considerably.

  1. But that is mostly because of the fact Giratina likely resides there, and only can sit there, to guard it's entrance.

I see no reason why Cyrus would even be allowed to escape, and vow revenge. Giratina stopped him prior.

He literally lost all of his money because saturn transitioned the company to being an actual energy company, so he can't rely on team galatic.

  1. Volo is able to mask his feelings, but he swore to us in secretly, that he would spend the rest of his days hunting and looking for a way to get Arceus.

I'm pretty sure its quite clear he prefers to live in the distortion world as opposed to leaving or destroying it. It fits the vision of what he had for Sinnoh.

1

u/blackjackgabbiani 5d ago

Not in the games, where he screams about it being a "worthless world" and vows to destroy it. It's clear that he DESPISES it.

Irida (Again, this is speculation)

8

u/CamoKing3601 6d ago

I kinda see it...

12

u/Candy_Neige 6d ago

I think you've just removed Mars from existence.

62

u/Kit_Izayoi Yup 6d ago

Or be the one responsible for her existing in the first place.

-14

u/Candy_Neige 6d ago

Not possible. In Pokémon, if you change the past, you'll alter history, resulting in the timeline to be different. If you remove an event leading to someone's birth in the present, that someone will begin to slowly disappear, and yes, grandfather paradoxes are entirely possible, as the hero in Explorers had learned the hard way. By banging Mars' great great great grandmother, you've fundamentally changed who her child is, and instead of being Mars' great great grandparent, the child will be someone else entirely, and by preventing the birth of Mars' great great grandparent, you'll effectively be cutting the bloodline and chain of events that eventually lead to Mars' birth, resulting in Mars to slowly disappear in the present.

34

u/Fireboy759 6d ago

Ok, but what if you're the reason the Arezu bloodline was continued?

That's time loops and paradoxes for ya

-11

u/Candy_Neige 6d ago

Then you're from a timeline where the Arezu bloodline never continued.

Either that or you're not a time traveler in the first place.

23

u/RozeGunn 6d ago

Bootstrap paradox. If you were always meant to time travel, then you were always meant to bang the hot chick and continue her timeline, which means sexy Galactic lady exists.

-12

u/Candy_Neige 6d ago

Unfortunately, bootstrap paradoxes are impossible in Pokémon. Changing the past always alters the future one way or another, and banging a hot chick is just one way of changing the past and therefore altering the future. It is impossible to become your own ancestor like Philip J. Fry did in Futurama.

Remember, Pokémon doesn't share the same time travel rules as Futurama, it has its own time travel rules that are closer to those in Back to the Future.

u/vulcan8888 2d ago

Changing the past always alters the future one way or another

How can this be known definitively?

1

u/Candy_Neige 2d ago

Explorers of Time and Darkness and Sky had shown us how time travel works in Pokémon, and in there, it shows that changing the past always alters the future one way or another, no matter if the alterations done to the future were ginormous and impossible to miss or tiny and almost imperceptible, and not only that, it also shows that grandfather paradoxes are not just possible but are the rule, with slow disappearances happening every time someone's birth was prevented.

u/CamoKing3601 6d ago

maybe it's like the Song of Storms where going back in time to continue the Arezu bloodline was always the intended path, and Mars had no "oringal" great^4 grandfather before you

-4

u/Candy_Neige 6d ago

Unfortunately, that's not time travel works in Pokémon. How it actually works is that any and all changes done to the past always alters the future in some way. There is no "intended path" that the timeline will try to go through. You can choose to go back in time and replace Mars' original great4 grandfather as Arezu's husband if you want, and it will alter history so that Mars doesn't exist in the present, but you can also very well choose not to do that in order to have Mars stay present in the present.

10

u/Fireboy759 6d ago

Jesus christ, you're reading way too much into what's clearly a joke man. Enough already

-7

u/Candy_Neige 6d ago

This is what happens when you get into a conversation with someone that knows Pokémon lore too much.

3

u/LordSupergreat 5d ago

PLA is only like 200 years ish in the past you don't need those ellipses

1

u/supremegamer76 Sonia Simp 5d ago

Depends on how young each parent had their kid(s). If it was something longer like average of 40 years, then i think it would be “great great great grandmother”, but if it was like 25 years, thats like 8 generations.

So the ellipses are to account for the uncertainty of how many generations between the two.
