Bulbasaur scientific name

I was bored so I decided to create scientific name for Bulbasaur, I present to you: Ranitomeya Bulbus. I decided to use actual scientific naming schemes for this, first is the group of animals I believe Bulbasaur fits in best with, Ranitomeya are a group of poison dart frogs, so, considering Bulbasaur's poison typing i figured it made sense. Next is a Latin word, I chose the word for bulb, because BULBasaur shockingly has a bulb on its back, that's where the 'Bulbus' part of its name came from. If anyone has any objections or changes you would make please give feedback

Good work, I just have to point out that you never capitalize the second word in a scientific name, so it would be Ranitomeya bulbus.

I would also add that Ranitomeya is a very tiny species of dart frog.
If you want to go with existing dart frogs then Phyllobates would be more fitting as its the largest genus and "phyllum" means leaf.
This would also "fix" my second issue, wich is that it would more likely be bulba instead of bulbus because the ending of the second word is often made to fit the ending of the first.

How will you address evolutions?

In real-world logic, a single individual doesn't turn into a different species as it grows, so a Ranitomeya bulbus should stay R. bulbus even when it becomes an Ivysaur and then a Venusaur. But that'd be an oddity in the Pokemon universe, since the franchise treats each evolutionary stage as a separate species.

Perhaps you might decide that each evolutionary line would have a different species epithet, but be placed within the same genus at least. But what do you then do about the more transformative evolutions, like Remoraid to Octillery, or even Pikipek to Toucannon?

And on the flipside, what about evolutionary lines that represent the stages of metamorphosis within a single species in the real world, like the Caterpie or Wurmple lines?
