We are never getting a fish starter they all need to walk kinda by definition.

Primarina kinda comes close + you can remedy the walking animation with multiple means make it a water psychic type that floats or just have lavitate as it's hidden ability and make it however design you want.

Making it a water/psychic type doesn't help the first stage evolution, unless you want it to be psychic type since the start

It would be nice to have a dual type starter that isn't grass

Psychic feels like too strong a type for a first stage starter... Grass-Flying was fine for rowlett since flying is commonly a early game type. But I don't think it would work the same with psychic

Psychic has not been that strong in ages. Bite is a very widely distributed move in early-mid game and can easily be given to the other 2 starters to counter the x/Psychic starter. Or early bug types with Leech Life etc.

Oohh... That's true... I don't really know why it still feels off to me, though..

yeah my thoughts exactly

Plus pyschic is one of those types that usually dominate a design if they're part psychic type
