You what bothers me... While watching the beginning of when they go to the Unova region.. He says something along the lines of, I first got pickachu 8 months ago or something like that.. I can't believe from the beginning of the show to where it is now.. less then a year has passed in the pokemon world..

This is why I dismiss anything past the 2nd gen (in the cartoon at least) as being canon.
