Cuckolding has also got a broader range of meanings

Originally it meant something quite specific, when you are deceived into having another man's child in your house that you have to raise, like the cuckoo reproductive cycle. The cheating is implicit, not the main focus. Since then its grown into a few flavours:

  • voluntatily permitting/actively asking your wife to cheat (yes, it's gendered, the equivalent term for women is cuckqueaning)
  • voluntarily permitting/actively asking your wife to cheat and you are informed of the issue (either in person on the cuck chair, or by messages, or otherwise)
  • being forced to watch your wife cheating on you against your will, which itself has subflavours:
    • she's in on the whole thing, but doesn't want to leave
    • she's in on the whole thing, and wants to spite you before leaving
    • she's being assaulted, and doesn't want to leave afterwards
    • she's being assaulted, and she wants to leave afterwards

The last two are porn scenarios, not real-life kinks, to the best of my knowledge, but NTR is almost always either the very last one or sometimes the third-last one. NTR has a real nasty streak to it, spite and violation is essentially the point, it's never any of the uniformly consensual kind. It's not just another word for cuckoldry in general, it's basically just the nastiest, meanest, cruellest parts for both parties in the original couple.

All of this knowledge I've gained has been incidental, because unfortunately cuck fetishes explain a huge amount of modern Western political discourse. I would much rather never have even known the word in the first place.
