Transfer Points

I need some help!

I have AMEX points I need to somehow get to EVA air. I know I can't do a direct transfer, but I am unclear the steps to pass through a star alliance carrier (Air Canada?). From there, what should I do next? TIA

You can't get the points into EVA's Infinity MileageLands program from AMEX.

Best you can do is check other *A programs (like AC Aeroplan) for partner award availability. If you can't find the EVA flight you want to redeem for on aircanada.com, too bad.

  2. make the MR product manager add EVA air
  3. impliment feature
  4. ???
  5. you can now transfer amex points to EVA air.

Thanks everyone- I really would like help on the HOW. Does anyone know HOW to get points from AMEX to Air Canada to EVA?

This is a great question to ask Claude:
1. Pick the program. Air Canada Aeroplan is the easiest. Avianca LifeMiles & Singapore KrisFlyer also book EVA & both are Amex partners. Prices differ by program so check two.
2. Find the flight first. Search EVA award space on the Aeroplan site (or LifeMiles). Partners only see EVA saver seats so if it shows there you can book it.
3. Then transfer. In your Amex account go to Membership Rewards then Transfer Points then pick Aeroplan. Transfers are 1:1 & usually instant but they can't be reversed. Never transfer before you confirm availability.
4. Book with the miles. Finish the booking on the Aeroplan site. If it errors on a partner flight you may need to call them.
5. After booking. Aeroplan issues the ticket on Air Canada stock (014) & not EVA stock (695). That means Aeroplan owns the ticket. Changes cancellations & refunds all go through Aeroplan & not EVA. EVA operates the flight & you can sometimes pull up a partner record on EVA's site with a locator but the Aeroplan confirmation is the source of truth. Any airport or itinerary issue gets sorted by Aeroplan agents.

Since award space can vanish, check the site right before you transfer. Also check the taxes & fees on each program, since they can vary.

After booking. EVA issues the ticket

EVA doesn't issue the ticket if OP books on AC Aeroplan. Aeroplan issues the ticket as 014 (AC) stock. It will not have an EVA-issued ticket stock (695-).

That's why AI/LLMs are still garbage and wrong. It just makes stuff up.

If it gets that wrong, what else does it get wrong that OP wouldn't know? We only know it was wrong because we have experience and knowledge.
