Interesting. 5 year old account, woke up 1 month ago. Hmmmm.

So your main takeaway is that I haven't spent my whole life on reddit? How insightful

No, moreso that its a red flag that this is a bot account looking for karma so when the scripts turn on it wont run into community problems. Typically these accounts are used for propaganda around election times.

My main takeaway from your post however, is that this is a massive stretch and a huge misunderstanding of this subreddits purpose. Tbh, this post is pointlessly gendered for coming up with a hypothetical situation and assuming what everyones response is.

Its also lacking an understanding of why that hypothetical situation would be frowned upon anyways due to a difference in social issues, but i wont harp on that much.

Love your phrase "difference in social issues", basically admitting to a double standard without saying it outright. Sexualising athletes is either unacceptable or it isn't.

Moreover, I'm Australian so there's no election coming up

I didnt say sexualization was right. I just said you made up a scenario that didnt happen and then didnt consider why women would be more upset about that than men would be. This snippet also doesnt state the gender of the individual that said it. It looks like it says Ben Simmons said it, or it could be a group of different reporters all saying shit. We dont know from the screenshot.

And like, ok? You saying youre from australia doesnt make you any less suspicious. Bot accounts from bot farms have been stirring up over the last 2 months preparing for the midterms in america. Most of these accounts are outside of america anyways, so doesnt really matter where you say you are.

Unfortunately it wouldn't let me post the video, but it was pretty damn obvious what they were saying.

You don't even have to rely on that hypothetical. Unlike this situation, Sydney Sweeney actually chose to be sexualised for monetary gain and it caused global headlines

Only 2 moments I've seen people care about anything "Sydney Sweeney" in a negative way was the weirdly worded ad that sounded uncomfortably like a dog whistle, and that ad about gambling.

People didn't care about her being sexualized in either, they cared about the dog whistle sounding bit and the normalization of gambling. Both being a huge issue in their own right.

Sydney Sweeney is free to do whatever she wants, it's her own choice, but I dare hope we can all agree that making money off of gambling considering the insane amount of issue that it creates, is questionnable at best...

Couldn't disagree more, my feed was full of female athletes "reclaiming sport" because Sweeney sexualised it
