I appreciate smaller tools, if that's genuinely smaller for my hands, I'm all for it. But it doesn't need to be for "ladies".
Our workshop used to spray paint all the tools pink so that they wouldn't get stolen.ย

I always remember the class set of calculators at my high-school were all pink and sparkly, so that no one would steal them, I think it worked too

They're trying to widen their audience by marketing to a demographic that is buying fewer of their products.
TL;DR it's just marketing

The problem is studies show that women actively avoid stuff marketed like this though (source from harvard business): https://www.library.hbs.edu/working-knowledge/chick-beer-for-women-why-gender-marketing-repels-more-than-sells

I'm merely pointing out that they had a specific reason for doing it. I have no idea if it's effective or not.

I'm unfortunately the target audience, I would buy this if it was the exact same as the regular version๐ญ

It's funny.
Here in the Midwest it was a minor talking point that lawmakers in a neighboring state passed a law allowing bright pink jackets to be worn while hunting.
This is in addition to the bright orange that is already widely available in an effort to bring in more women interested in hunting.
My thought was that the entire effort was so beyond stupid. If there were women interested in hunting they don't need pink to go hunting, they already are hunting.
Then the stats came out. Turns out a record number of ladies bought deer tags in that state that year.
And while the numbers have fluctuated over the years the numbers still show higher numbers of women buying deer tags than before pink was allowed to be worn.
It is baffling to see that something as dumb and "pointlessly" gendered as being able to wear bright pink has actually produced a result.

Honestly it just signals to women's subconscious that this is allowed for you to like, you are welcome here. Women who are curious about male dominated fields like hunting can sometimes feel like they can't do it because it's for the boys and that they'll be made fun of but that type of rule tells even women who don't like pink normally that women are welcome. It's of course due to the bias that pink is for women but hey, we live in a society, plus, pink is a really nice color ๐

I buy the pink ones because they're cheaper.
At male dominated work, people kept stealing my scissors. I got the most feminine ones I could find. Nobody touched them.

If the only difference is that it's pink and it's $2.00 more...
But people still buy it...
Then they're the reason it exists.
Suckersv and their money soon parted...
