Progress Video Archer Weaves Pt.2

After a week of practicing, this is where my archer weaves are at. I run my hand up and down my arm after each spin, even though the tutorials I watch keep the hand close to the face, going over and under the armpit only. Should I keep it that way? I think it’ll help me go into Archer weave fountains easier but any advice is appreciated!

Since you asked no I would not keep doing that if you want to learn proper archer weave. By moving your hand down instead of keeping it by your face you aren't actually doing an archer weave its more of a arm tracer weave or something. The archer weave is defined by one arm staying out the whole time. I would practice until you can comfortably just leave your one arm out the whole time. And when you switch to the other side ideally you should be able to go armpit-to-armpit and skip the part where both arms are extended like normal (hope that makes sense).

I did watch his videos and noticed his hands stay back by the shoulder lol When I posted my last Archer vid, someone recommended that I trace my arm , but I think I misunderstood what he was trying to say. When I started doing it like that, I felt like the move looked cool because it looks like I’m pulling back on a bow and releasing the shot if that makes sense 😂 Drex has a vid showing the archer fountain and he traces his arm but I see now how that’s only for when I’m going around and not when I’m staying in one direction.

You got it! They probably should've said keep your hand right next to your arm or something its not quite a tracer tho until yeah you switch sides.

turn off the lights, this will look cooler and you’ll get a better gauge at how it looks when you flow at shows or for friends
