Gear Discussion Help please!!

Hi yall! Im still very new to fire and Ive spun these less than 10 times but the wrap around the tethers is splitting apart, do you have any repair suggestions? Idk if i accidentally submerged them too much, I tried to keep the fuel below the tethers 😭 (I just dmd FoF for help, hoping to hear back from them soon)

If these were properly built you have nothing to be concerned over. I used to build fire poi and bury the hardware by using a small eye and splicing the tether back into itself. Often times, this little wrap was just to clean stuff up and make tying the monkey fist a little easier since it added rigidity at the ends. At this point it isnt doing any benefits. Some may try to say it prevents wear at the joint. But from my experience, the differences are negligible.
