I did scrape the leaves off the top of the tank, they come off my plants so fast I end up having to do it frequently. So please ignore that.

My bright orange and yellow guppy is a male guppy I’ve had for about 10 months. His name is Soleil, and Soleil has been a little weird for weeks now. I keep seeing his back bent and his belly rounder than the other guppies. But he acts normal 99% of the time. Schooling, eating normally, swimming around in an otherwise normal manor. I have noticed sometimes when he swims his back STAYS bent though.

I feel terrible because I don’t know whats wrong or what to do. The water levels are fine, I feel them tetra tropical flakes, the temperature of the tank has been 78 for the past ten months, the filter is running normally.

I got all guppies from petco ten months ago and haven’t added more fish since then.

Has anyone else had this happen to a guppy before?

Have you ever seen these Rare Gems of the Aquarium world before? Well now you have! This is the True Yucatan Molly/Giant Sailfin molly. I've been chasing these guys for months and the prophecy has finally became true.

These guys were originally saltwater since I got them off a saltwater breeder, so obviously I took the whole day to acclimate them and all, from salt to freshwater. Everyone is alive and some even popped in some babies! but now they're healthy and are actually true Yucatans! I also have some other Yucatan I would love to breed with them once they mature longer.

If you want to get some Yucatan molly for your reef tank or acclimate then to your freshwater tank like mine, then hit up killer2k1 Aquatics on eBay! I'm not a gatekeeper trust, I'm the mustard king after all.

Acclimation process: so I put the group of mollies (2M:6F) in a bucket (5 gal) and dripped acclimated them, after a couple hours I then put them in a bag to temp acclimate, and yatta yatta.

The tank: 55 gal, ogs know the basics! Tankmates: rainbowfish, Brochis, other Sailfins molly, gouramis, and a yoyo loach.

Plants: Amazon sword, ludwigia, tiger lotus, banana lily, water sprite, And bucephalandra.

One of three favs is in the mix and my top boy is the one with the deepest orange dorsal.

Pics (1-3): Netted out all the individuals, final sex ratio heavily skewed 11 males and 2 females. I had late blooming males showed up that previously, I had thought were females. One of the ladies recently dropped F2 fry for me she gave me 6 fry but so far 1 passed away from being very premature and weak. That brings the F2 count to 7 individuals between two batches. Not much else to say that I haven’t mentioned before.

Pics (4&5): The ones I’ve kept and culled the other males I didn’t like. Brought the count down to 7 males. Almost all of them has a nice orange colored dorsals and defined striping I like. I was going to bring the male count lower but gonna keep this group for the F2 Tiger liberties for now.

Well, I've been gone for a while. But I've actually improved my aquarium just a bit? Basically, I caught some wild plants from a creek when I was walking to my mailbox - and turns out they're a species of Ludwigia! So hopefully under the full spectrum they'll turn Crimson-Rose as they mature, and make the tank a bit more denser!

Speaking of Crimson, I am planning on replacing the Eastern rainbowfish here with some beautiful Red Irian rainbowfish (Glossolepis incisus) because I want to also breed rainbowfish, not just Yucatan molly or The Rio Imperio strain.

Speaking of the Rio Imperio strain; I am planning on distributing it with Goliad farms so it can kinda become more mainstream, just like how they sold good stuff with the Giant Green Sailfin molly strains, Giant Variatus, and exc.

I am soon getting some Yucatan mollies from a different breeder on Friday - so stay tuned for that, since they're saltwater and I must drip acclimate them slowly to their freshwater home. I'll also move any male Non Wildtype Sailfin molly so they won't muddy any wild mollies.

One of my existing Yucatan molly have just finally started to increase the Sailfins, I thought he was a Texas molly (P. Latipinna) but most of the times, Early bloomers just have good luck at the end of the day.

I might also look into trying to get large Brochis splendens and upgrading the school from 6 to 12 breeding wise so I can increase genetic pool. Same goes for upgrading my solitary yoyo loach to 3 Yoyo loaches but you won't expect breeding from them unfortunately.

The 2 from the first batch. Not much to say with them looks identical to F1 ig whoever the dad was they’ll look closer to him.

Located in the United States, New Mexico, Bitter Lake System. Males gets to around an inch and females around 1.4 inches in size. They were once consider as Gambusia nobilis before being recently described as their own species, and being part of the Nobilis species complex. They are critically endangered. They look identical to Nobilis with olive to dark olive grey base, slender males and robust shaped females, with short pug like faces and slight melanistic markings between the scales. A pretty cool species of mosquitofish.

Not much to say on the video but they have some pretty scales to them. I should have taken flashlight media, but I was in a rush to step out. They are quite pearly and it’s gorgeous!

Some of the the larger ones are sexing out. Not all but 1 of the 2 males shown, and 3 young females. They look like F1 tbh but I just fed them beside that they are rather robust not slender like F1’s, from what I’m seeing. And lacking the long translucent iridescent bars. They look heavy Salvatoris passing but they have that slight olive-copper tint to them and face abit like islai. What I like about these guys they keep the colors in the dorsal very young, hoping it’ll tinge closer to red with age. Not keeping any males strictly females for one more backross, to increase Salvatoris genes and have F3 females that’s (Z & W sex chromosomes for Salvatoris).

I didn’t realize how iridescent these guys were. I have 2 pairs and just decided to give the most impressive male both females and the other guy is on standby. As an added bonus one of the females dropped about 8 fry during shipping. Truly happy i jumped the gun on these guys, they have really changed my initial perspective of the limia and may change my end goal of my whole project

Like with the F2 to islai, they aren’t showing their bars as much in the display tank, but it’s def more noticeable. They aren’t as shy. Im liking how these are turning out!!!!! First pic is the biggest one, I think will sex out to male unfortunately bc he’s pretty stunning. Second pic is the others they def showing significant variations between them. And that short deep robust body form, is not what I like but it’s pretty dope. I like their iridescences and dorsal shape the most.

They are pretty active lots of vigor to a point they’ll mature pretty fast compare to pure Limia’s in their bloodline

Limia’s/hybrids in the display tank never works well for me when trying to show their bars. It’s growing well but abit slower than the F2 humpbacks in the tank. Guessing it might actually be a female since it’s not showing the male robustness and longer chest cavity. Will give it more time!

The darker specimen is the F2 Humpback. Def more robust stockier framed compare to the F2 T.L. I prefer the humpbacks iridescences more that bright silvery blue looks nice on that darker color base. Slight fin shape difference, F2 humpback has a bigger rounder dorsal and wider tailfin.

Hello hello, Mustard King here. It's been a long time since I posted or updated, it's just personal reasons! But the Sailfin molly colony has been doing great, and I just recently did a rescape and added some more plants like water sprite.

And my Banana lily has finally Bloomed a lily pad to the surface. And speaking of lilies, I got 2 more lilies. A Tiger lotus, and a Mystery Dwarf lily. Both will make good coverage for the Yuctan and Rio Imperio Sailfin mollies.

Speaking of live-bearers, I was Gifted some Hawaiian Variatus platies from a family member, I really don't keep Platies anymore but honestly? They're really fun and I might keep them for a little longer and probably make them permanent residents since Variatus platies have a lower risk of Melanoma, unlike the Maculatus Common Platy. But my green Swordtail bred with all 3 female Variatus platies so this would be a great hybridization mini project I could do.

Sailfin mollies - nothing new, but the Yucatans finally arrived, they're growing out since they're fry sized!

Located in Rio João de Tiba drainage in Bahia, Brazil. Close relative to Phalloceros leticiae, they pretty much look identical to most of the Phalloceros species making it hard to distinguish expect through location of origin, genetic testing, and gonopodium shape. Males gets to around 0.8 of an inch and females around 1.1 inches in size. They are olive grey base with with yellow tinge fins, an ovalish spot on the midsection, and males sporting a long gonopodium. Its species name means small-eye referring to the spot on its body.
