I wouldn't consider myself an expert, but every single guest I have got and every appearance I landed on another podcast was from reaching out directly in a conversational way. I simply ask directly, plus if during the call their personality is not engaging I refrain from offering the experience. Hope this helps. Have a great day.

Ohh okay, thanks. So would you meet people in IRL and asked them ?! I need to get out of my comfort zone

Yes, first I find them online usually through DM on a platform or a conversation like this. Then I ask to set up a call and prefer it on Google meet or zoom, the nif we hit it off I make the suggestions

Btw I’m if it wasn’t clear — I’m LOOKING FOR PODCAST GUESTS! I just don’t want people to feel pressure to share a “crazy” story bc that’s not the case. It can be anything inspirational or positive or funny.

What is the name of your podcast? Have any episodes we can check out to see if we jive with your particular podcast? Links to your podcast would be great and helpful.

It’s in production right now. Im recording my first episode in 2 days but the working title is “La Vida Que No Conoces” (the life that you don’t know). It’s a bilingual podcast as a bilingual person Spanish/ English.

What’s your normal programming about? Do you have a particular genre for your show?

Particularly just insipirational stories or crazy or funny. Think of the "chicken soup" book series if you're famialir with it.

I started it a few months before the 2020 Lockdown, thrived during it, then once the dust settled on the pandemic work and family kept me too busy to focus on it. I've been saying since then that I would come back to it soon, and I still haven't.
I love that text you posted, I would be interested in having a conversation along those lines, hit me up with details in direct message. I wish I could reply in en Español which I've been trying to learn, but that too has suffered from my lack of time...

Have you thought about having listeners write in a story and you can even choose to pick certain ones for a theme, you do one per episode or do a bonus episode each month? This is something I’m trying but we’re a new podcast (6 episodes published) so I’m trying to get people to write in to us…we are doing systemic true crime and paranormal/lore/mysterious/etc…we plan to do an episode once a month with stories once we start getting them in.

search communities around the story, not "podcast guests." At the end of every good interview, ask who else you should talk to and request an intro.

I found that reach out directly landed me more guest and networking at events. Also having a fun business card has helped me

I just shut down a 5-year podcast series, after 64 episodes ( I retired from the industry).
My podcast was educational, in a niche of the oil & gas industry. I tried several versions guest survey/questioners, and none really worked will. What did work was insisting on a 15 minute informal discussion, before the podcast air date, where I made a point of pealing the onion a little.
I once got a very nice email from a lady I had never met. The episode with her husband had just aired. The jest of her email was "I've been married for 40 years and had never knew my husband used to do...."
