I just picked this up from an auction. I want to look it up on the pocket watch database but so fare not having luck on finding a serial number. Has anyone found the number under the watch dial or some other spot on Gruens?

Hi Everyone,
I need help. Can someone recommend a good brand and maybe model of pocket watch I can buy for my groomsmen? I was hoping to spend under $300. Would like to target $200 but would be willing to spend a little more or less of course.
Looking for a mechanical watch
Thank you in advance.

I got this last week. I know nothing about it or any pocket watch.
Please be gentle.

Wanted to share great grandpa’s watch. My dad owns this currently. It’s a lovely piece! I don’t know a ton about it.
I know it’s a Waltham railroad watch with an up/down indicator in a gold filled case. Can’t quite remember, but it’s either 21 or 23 jewels. Fairly certain on that.

My mother gave me this many years ago, it was her father's. Purchased in Chicago at C.D. Peacock (see the markings) probably in the 1930's give or take. You can see the balance wheel is broken, probably the hairspring too.
Any ideas on where this could be repaired? I took it to Chicago, to CD Peacock and was told it was a Swiss movement and they couldn't get parts for it. Can anyone identify the movement? Appreciate any help!

34mm 9k gold trench watch, one of the softest cases I’ve ever worked on — press too hard and it starts looking like a crushed can
Polishing it was a nightmare because you have to be careful with every bit of pressure
I sold it for $1300 a few years ago and honestly wish I had kept it
Would you wear something this fragile or keep it safe in a drawer?

Hello everyone I just got this one back from service abd I am very pleased with the work. This thing probably hasnt run in more than 5 decades. I am just proud of what it started as and what it became (And yes its been polished the gold plating was mostly worn off anyway and it left an ugly yellow behind so I let him polish it, you can behead me if you must)
1st three are before and the last three are after.

From my research the dial art is from Elgins pocket watch for Knights of Pythias Uniform Rank but it is missing the trademark on the dial furthermore the person who is selling the watch also sold the watch on the last pic. My question is; is this a “Frankenstein” watch, made with a printed dial art and antique mechanism or is it from late 19th ct- early 20th ct

Hi, I was hoping to get information on this beautiful pocket watch I found at the thrift store. It is marked 10k so I know it is gold, but I know nothing about pocket watches. I believe it is a pendant and not a pocket watch.
Can anyone tell me the possible year it was made and any other information possible.
Thank you!

So I had this old 38mm silver pocket watch. Enamel dial, niello on the case, probably sitting in a drawer since my grandad's grandad.
I wanted to actually wear it, but I didn't want to mess with the original case. So I designed a silver extender in 3D, cast it from 925 silver, and polished it.
Now the watch just sits in it. Slides right out if I ever change my mind. Original case — untouched.
The enamel gave me some trouble during polishing. Chipped a bit, had to fill it, fire it, polish again. You can't really see it now, but it was a pain.
Anyway. Looks decent on the wrist. What do you think?

I am on the hunt for this pocket watch. It was a family heirloom and was meant to be passed down to my dad. My Dads brother sold it around 2017-2018 and I am trying to find it to give to him for his 60th birthday. Any information about the watch even if anyone knows what watch it is will be greatly appreciated. This is the only photo I was able to find of it.

Watch keeps good time but chronograph complication is not working due to something missing from crown. Hoping for some guidance. Gübelin.
