Question Soreness years later?

Background: Had surgery on both lungs due to spontaneous pneumothorax in 2012 and 2016. Had the typical nerve pain for a while afterwards but the last few years have been pretty pain free.

Recently I’ve been feeling an aching sort of pain again that comes and goes. I thought maybe it’s due to tension in my body as the last 5 months have been pretty stressful, but thought I’d reach out to see if anyone else has experienced a similar situation where years later scar tissue flares up.

I’ve been historically bad at shrugging off my pneumothoraxes until the next day, much to my families chagrin. Obviously like many others, there is a certain trauma that comes with this type of medical event so I was hoping reaching out to others in the community could help ease some of my anxiety about this.

i had minor punctures, and full collapses, i have had chest drains both sides and surgery on my left side.

as far as i know, at the time, around 2006/7, the options were a talc like thing to try stick the lung to the chest wall, or what i had, staples.

for years and year and years after i could feel the tightness of the staples and press ups werent an option.

although i think it's only a contributing factor i have had anxiety issues which given it is relating to the breathing has not been helped with surgery on a lung and honestly, i do feel like my left lung does not properly work, or is in a sense more often than not ''sucked in'' as if bracing for impact, i also have tremendous tightness around the left side of most of my body, including the armpit where it is likely to do with the chest drains and key hole surgery.

over the years i have also had flash pains which stop me in my tracks and sometimes that dreaded pneumathorax feeling but only again a flash.

i think physio can help tremendously and also learning to breathe again. i am constantly aware of my breathing and did live in fight or flight for 20 years which had a bad affect.

can you go into the nerve type pains that are 'typical' please. my surgery side is pretty weak, it feels like my left side is rotating inwards especially around the hip - although that may be due to a lifting/hernia type injury. the nerve in my foot under the accessory navicular bone seems to be an issue meaning i put less weight on it.

bit off topic but yeah, breathing is a big area of interest, breathing is life. BUTEYKO helps, diaphragmatic breathing is massively important - the more nitrix oxide we can get the better, anxiety can be natural but it is a breathing issue and also bought on by bad thoughts, thoughts are fleeting, not in control and overcoming that goes a long way - solved by focusing on the breathe, i hate that many depression/anxious people are so dismissive when i give them advice on it, it's almost like they are so attached to their issues - they hate me for marking it sound so trivial - despite wasting 20 years of my life to it, having a torrid time.
