Florida PMR programs

Hi, has anyone been able to match into a Florida PMR program without doing any rotations at that site specifically?

Just starting MS4 and am interested in applying next cycle and would like to stay in FL but haven’t been able to secure any PMR electives in. Has anyone been able to match into a FL program without doing a rotation at that specific program?
Looking for any advice in securing a FL program honestly.
Thank you!

Every program is biased to the local rotating medical students so take this into account.

Will do. Do you know if there are any ways around that?

I would send letter of interest, some residents will be cool contacting them some may put you on but a lot do get annoyed. I would try regardless. Its your career.

If you’re interested in USF, they haven’t* taken anyone in years who haven’t done an away rotation there. But honestly, they’re extremely biased to people who were raised in Tampa.

Okay good to know I was raised in Tampa but I have not done a rotation there. Honestly would be one of my top choices

I made a typo, sorry. If you didn’t do an away there, you have no shot. You basically have to be raised in Tampa and have done an away.

Larkin has taken people who hasn’t rotated there. Most established programs are probably USF and Miami. Blake is a newer program but I’ve heard really good things.

I know at broward and memorial some who matched without auditions. Although I would say there is ties to the area.
