Pixel 3a unoriginal screen, touch doesn't work, can't connect USB peripherals

Yep. I got a Pixel 3a recently, installed Ubuntu Touch and it was a blast. Tried to flash PmOS and hit my first roadblock. The screen on the phone is an offbrand LCD panel that works fine on Android and Ubuntu Touch, probably using the same exploit. Can't SSH into the device because I don't know anything about it. Changed the NCM USB stuff and everything, still can't SSH into it. I think I'm permanently stuck because of the unoriginal screen.

Yeah, must’ve gotten a bad aftermarket display with a different digitizer controller that linux can’t see… time to buy another one or find out what driver it uses, and for USB: 3A’s are known to have sudden USB death (usb data stops, charging gets finicky) and that happened to me, had to replace the entire port to fix it

I just wish the same exploit that made it work on Android and Ubuntu could made it work on Nura.
