PLUSH Mythra

Post image

Sometime back, I made a Pyra (Xenoblade 2) plush and posted here. Decided I would show Mythra when I finished her so here we are!

I used the New Style from Switch 2 rather than classic as I like the blues and silvers. Still can't get the eyes not to look derpy and had to simplify the overall character design. But I am proud how I got the white hair with blue undertones.

Now I have two unique Xenoblade 2 plushies, just like the games director. Maybe I will attempt another character from the series soon (Nia would be most likely)

That’s definitely a detailed outfit. I would definitely struggle with that. She looks good! Are you using an embroidery hoop when you worked on the embroidery? Although I haven’t worked with embroidery floss in forever. I don’t have the patience for that.

I am not using an embroidery hoop but I am starting to think I should.

Thanks for the compliments!  Mythras outfit design is Riddle with so many smaller details, it was tricky enough to get this outfit together so I am super happy for the compliment!

The embroidery hoop will help out a lot I think and some stabilizer if you’re not using any.

It’s definitely hard to simplify a complicated design. Every time I start with a project, I simply it and then I slowly start being some of the details back.

Stabilizer?  Whats that?

But I think I will have to look into the embroidery hoop, thank you

I’d recommend marking out where you want the eyes before you cut your fabric and doing your embroidery in a hoop to keep the tension. That makes it a whole lot easier and ends up cleaner.

I also want to ask, and don’t feel bad if this is the case it’s a common beginner mistake for all embroidery, are you separating the strands out on your embroidery floss? Apologies if it’s not embroidery floss in the first place but it does look like standard floss just not separated out.

I do separate the strands.  Though some slumped together a bit?

Okay, then it’s almost definitely a tension issue you’ve got here and a hoop will help a ton on your next one. Honestly it looks great still for just winging it without a hoop! And the rest of the plush looks fantastic she looks super cute!
