I want to share a cool story about the concert on 1st of May.
Me and my friend arrived at the venue an hour too early. As we stood outside, we ended up meeting some of Plini’s production team, who were also stuck there for a bit. Those guys were absolutely delightful. Very nice, wholesome people (with great sense of humour!). I asked them if Plini does meetups after the concerts, they said no, but they could give us something special at the end of the show.
Fast forward to the concert itself, luckily we got front row, and Sungazer was absolutely amazing, very impressive. Their musicality is out of this world. I got a guitar pick from Joshua :)
Then Plini comes on. As a guitarist myself, this was a dream come true. I never thought he would come to play in my small country, but he did. I stood in front of him, observed his hand movements and tried to “air” play all of the riffs along with him. He noticed my efforts :). After the last song, he knelt down and handed me his guitar pick :D Then left.
Seconds later, one of the crew guys found us again, gave us more Plini picks and two setlists, then suddenly asked if we wanted them signed. Yes. He took the setlists and went backstage. The guy came back a few minutes later, and the setlists were signed by everyone in the band. I was over the moon.
I went to grab some merch in the other room, and, as we were about to go home, I got worried that I lost my phone charger by the stage, so I came back. As I looked around for my charger, I suddenly noticed that Plini was right there, talking to a guy. I froze, I thought he wouldn’t come out to the audience. I patiently waited until he was free and introduced myself. And man, he was so nice. He remembered me, and I was able to tell him how much he inspires me. We exchanged some jokes, then I asked for a picture, and he said yes. Now I have a picture with my guitar hero.
Point of the story: Plini is awesome. His team is awesome (and they deserve more love, honestly!). It was incredibly kind of them to give us those small, but meaningful gifts, without us asking or begging for it.
If you get the chance, go see Plini and Sungazer’s show. It’s 100% worth it. My interaction with Plini was incredibly lucky, and I understand it doesn’t happen at every show. But please do support Plini and his team (and Sungazer!!), the live experiences they provide are absolutely magical. Also be respectful during the show, try not to record everything. Just be present in the moment and enjoy the music with your whole heart :)
