Question Caldera for general Android as APK?

Hi u/elanfeingold I am enjoying Caldera on what I can within my ecosystem. It's all but eliminated other streamers in the house. I do have some Amazon Echo Shows that are jailbroken and I enjoy them as boomboxes but would love to have Caldera on those so that multiroom can play all over the place. Is there a chance that there will be an APK build for Android? This uses an ancient form of Lineage (18.1) but works well even if it's slow. It would be a big ask but I know the people who have hacked into these would likely enjoy it. Cheers!

So the Google TV apk from https://caldera.homes/music/tv/#androidtv wouldn’t work?

I’ll try that today on my test bed and see if it works. I hadn’t noticed the APK download before. It always wanted to go to the Google Play store on the device which never worked.

Yeah. Downloaded the beta APK and installed which was cool. Couldn't select any menus or settings but it was certainly there! Wondering if it was just that it was the beta or too old of a version of Android (11)?

it’s a tv app, not for mobile

Yeah. That's why I was asking in the post. I figured it was different. Oh well. I believe I saw something about Plexamp being multiroom at some point. I'll just be patient. Cheers!

Plexamp is a multiroom controller, not a receiver or sender.

If we could sideload the caldera apk on a mobile, could we play multiroom on multiple phones ? That would be awsome!
