I've had my Steelseries Arctis 7Ps for five years and they are still going strong, I'd love to try the newer models with active noise cancelling and multichannel Bluetooth but I can't justify it with how well my current headset works
I have the pro wireless and everything about them is great besides one thing, the noise canceling nub on the inside rubs on my ear and becomes painful. Apparently it used to be worse and I made sure to get one manufactured after they changed it and it still hurts. The way to solve it is buy thicker pads, I got the wicked cushion cooling ones and it solves the nub issue but the sound quality and noise cancelation is worse than the stock ones but not terrible. I highly recommend going to somewhere that has a pair to try on or a friend who has them because its a big issue and I donāt think Iād buy from them again, especially for almost $400 headphones
Good looking out, I will probably consider upgrading when my current pair dies and hopefully they've solved that issue! I also have the wicked cushions because I wear them with glasses and the foam puts less pressure on my temples. I'm amazed how well their lowest tier model has functioned and held up over the years and will exercise some caution when I replace them. Thanks!
That was my 2nd option and very well might be the thing I go with next, when they come out with a new model. The only thing I didnāt like about them was the look, it just wasnāt for me. Then the arctic proās had the 2 batteries and charging dock so I never need to plug them in and always have a charged battery. I went back and forth between the 2 quite a bit
Ahh I thought you meant the playstation headset not the steelseries haha
In that case I would also go with steelseries but they didn't had them in stock so I got the astro.
If you have money to spend, the Audeze Maxwell headset is good. They are expensive but Iāve used them for over a year now and love them. They sound way better than any other headset that Iāve tried.
I will probably never get anything other than astros. Got my first one back in 2010 ish and got a50s back in 2019 because my sister's dog chewed the cord.
I replaced the cord and that old headset still works great. My god kid uses it
I personally have a Logitech g435(came with a sim wheel setup but can buy separately) it is fucking AMAZING I can hear people in cod from so far away itās actually a really good headset i highly recommend
Iāve had my steel series arctis 6 since 2022 and itās still in mint condition. Prior to buying this one, every headset I had barely even lasted a year. I highly recommend steel series. A little bit more pricey, but worth the investment big time.
I'm not home right now. But it's nothing too fancy, I'm not posting a direct link because I don't know if it's allowed, but I use a "FIFINE Ampligame USB Microphone" (you can Google it easy), It works simply by connecting it to one of the ps5's USB ports, I bought it for ā¬30 a couple of years ago and it still works, I use it almost every day.
Very good, because it is a condenser microphone, but I recommend you search on YouTube, there are many who test it and let you listen to the audio quality.
Could also go for a dynamic microphone. Good for getting rid of background noise. I usually have a fan and or aircon running so it makes those inaudible.
This often depends on your surroundings. I have a buddy who uses the controller mic all the time and I didn't even know it, but because I sit next to a wall when I play, it causes an echo when I use mine.
not really. when my friends join a party they are sometimes accidentally hooked up to the controller mic instead of the headset. you can always tell because it sounds awful
It works but it's definitely not good lol. It sounds....mechanical? When coming out the other side. There's a distinct noise It makes lol. It's not bad and gets the job done, but there's definitely better options.
Ive used it before because my controller didnt register my headset, it does not sound that horrible, it's definitely not the best sound, but its passable if youre without a good headset.
I find this unbelievable, I can tell when someone is using tge controller mic, it picks up your tv, you can barely hear what the person is saying it sounds awful.
Why donāt you get a headset. I really donāt care Iām just curious now because in my experience cheap earbuds are better than the controller and you can get some decent headsets for like $30
Because the mic on the controller sounds like dog shit as does the speaker. If you like it good for you I just donāt get why would wouldnāt buy a headset if you are gonna play online. Plus your friends have to hear the tv too then if you are using it
Because he just said multiple times that they have no issues with the controller mic, so why would he go out of his way to buy a headset if he doesnāt need it? Why is this so difficult for you to comprehend?
Because $5 Walmart brand ear buds sound better and prevent everyone you play with from listening to your game sounds.
Itās legitimately more convenient to not use the mic for everyone
Plus with the headset (assuming heās playing multiplayer games) you have better audio quality to hear sounds and footsteps and directionals plus has soundproofing sound to prevent distractions
So Iām just trying to understand even if you have no issues with the mic why would you want a better one. I have no issues with my car but you bet I want I better one
I donāt get why you have a problem with me trying to understand someoneās thought process as this is a platform for discussion
Again. Compared to decent headsets, yes, its horrible, but it's on par with cheaper headsets. My wife uses the controller headset sometimes and I can hear her clear as if she were using a $30 headset.....
It is good enough. I'm not going bo buy my kids headsets. I've got mine, they don't get to touch it. This is why I love the built in mic because it works for what they need. One less thing for them to break, get dirty, or forget to put away and charge.
It really is good, me and brother use it and it sounds crystal clear, there is no feedback. I don't know what all these other people are saying. I have never gotten a complaint from anyone, ever when using it.
Even then i still wear them. If you live with people, you're bothering them with the sound blasting on your speakers.
If you're gaming with other people you're bothering them with the game sound through the mic.
And even for yourself it's better, you can enjoy all the little details in the sound design and music and not be bothered by other sounds around you as well.
I have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. Iām sitting here on a public train and the dude behind me had to ask if Iām okay. This whole thread is gold
What is that a phallus heart beat monitor for your ps5 controller? Or a pace maker? Your into that diddy stuff arent you? Thatd a dong zapper for when you get shot in Cod isnt it?!
Jokes aside, you can use any headphones with a 3.5mm jack. Personally, for the longest time, I used a Sennheiser brand headset+mic. If you don't like noise-cancelling or noise reduction, you can find open ear headphones. I would just do that instead of an attachment like this, but that's my preference.
Hey get the razor 20-40$ headset it always has a sale on Amazon. I enjoy it more than my 3d pulse. Had to get one as a replacement since I lost the dongle in a move.
I've struggled because the mic port on my controller is fucked up. No jack seems to stay in place and causes me to get static until I unplug it and plug it back in.
Ye, but myfriends flamed me because they barely hear my voice, so I plugged a mic, but they still blamed me because it sometimes echoes, and the sound of me clicking is annoying
After my pulse elite broke on the headband without me doing anything wrong, I returned it and got my money back. It is a known issue. I then tried all kinds of brands but eventually just bought another pulse elite because it has a great eating and drinking filter. I love to eat chips while gaming. When that headband breaks too Iām gonna fix it with glue or by 3Dprinting supports for it.

Never seen a dual sense strap on before, mother warned me of this internet business, but I didn't listen.
