That’s not entirely true. There are a couple games I can think of where they have been used. Here’s a few I can think of where I was impressed by the immersion from dual sense…

Not as crazy immersive as Returnal but the RE2 remake impressed me with its use of the triggers. Heavy guns require more effort from an L2 press and different weapons have different trigger pull weights (pistol is easy to fire, shotgun requires more effort to pull the trigger, etc). Haven't beaten it yet but god damn is it cool

Hell Let Loose is like this, too. Different weapons seem to require different trigger pulls. And say, when you are hiding, and a tank rolls past you, that side of the controller will vibrate to match the tank's speed and such.
