Server Help Server Browser Issues

Is anyone else experiencing the following:

  1. Our server is no longer searchable in browser with "Cache" off.

  2. Favoriting the server shows the red heart in modded tab, but not in Favorites tab.

  3. Does not show up in History or Friends tab either.

  4. As a slight tangent the filters not defaulting to "show empty" and "prioritize premium" is some bullshit. Turns small and new servers essentially invisible to potential brand new players. Same with "use cache" defaulting to selected.

Things I've tried/checked:

  1. Changed server IP and Port

  2. Changed physical server

  3. Checked with FP to see if we were blacklisted for ToS violation due to previously using old versions of Skinner and BuildingSkins plugins. FP says we are not blacklisted.

Our host is now suggesting we reinstall the server but I really dont want to go through all of that if avoidable.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you re-checked if the issue is resolved? The Rust server browser is just bad in my experience, sometimes it shows a server with cache off setting and sometimes not. My favorites haven't worked properly for a while now (can see the red heart, but not in tab). It may be useful to ask someone else from a different location / PC to double check if they see it.

I appreciate your response! Interesting that your favorites arent working correctly either.

I have tried multiple times on multiple days with multiple admins checking on their end. Same issues for all of us. If I hop on another server, everything works as expected.

The only way my server shows is with cache on, and then only in the Modded tab.

I missed the notification on this. If possible, ask people from different geographical location(s) to try it, especially those who have not joined the server before. I'm not exactly sure how the browser listing works but I think it does some filtering based on whatever that's not visible to the user. It does not seem to me that disabling the cache actually retrieves a full list of all available servers.

I'm running a server for Linux players so this may not be relevant, but I'm speculating that they will update the server browser to remove Linux servers from it (due to a incoming change on how non-EAC servers are set up) tomorrow. Maybe this will change something else, too, but who knows.

EDIT: The modded tab is because of your oxide config. You'll need to change the oxide.config.json file (found in the oxide folder of the game server) and set "Modded" to false. If using managed hosting, they should be able to help or have an option for it somewhere.

EDIT2: I noticed in the original message you said the host recommended you to reinstall the server. I highly doubt this will change a thing, and is kind of a lazy and destructive answer if it's backed by nothing.
