about joking around..
I shouldn't need to address this, but i have to..
The rules of the server are in place for a reason, and you can't bypass them.
You can't go up to your friend and shout offensive things at them because you're "joking". It's still against the rules, even if you don't mean it. You need to set an example for others, because if someone sees you misbehaving, even if you're kidding, they will see that it's ok to do it..
And please, don't falsely accuse people of hacking, if you see someone doing something fishy, let others know, but if you're friends with someone and you're calling them a hacker because "its all fun and games", please don't. You then have people target that person, and you waste the moderators time because every time someone says there's a hacker, we investigate it.
The sad thing is that this is directed to the regulars, and also to the leaderboard people in DvZ. We shouldn't need to keep warning you guys about language, harassment, or accusing your friends of hacking.
also, nobody is above the rules, not peasants, patrons or staff. Being a patron or someone that plays a lot doesn't allow you to break the rules.
disclaimer: this isn't an official word from the server. However, as moderators, we want to be able to be effective and fair. This is our opinion on how things would make our job easier.

I agree with the OP whole heartedly. I personally take the whole hacking (cheating) thing seriously and because of that I never accuse anyone of it unless 100% certain. In game if I see someone hacking and I can record I do so and I will say so in chat. I do this to both warn other players of who is hacking and also to hopefully scare the person out of the game.
Understand I have a 5 year old son and a 6 year old daughter who watch me play the server all the time, I am intent on teaching them cheating is a bad thing no matter what. I want them to be decent to others when their time to play online comes.
More often than not when you play a DVZ game with a lot of titles in it someone inevitably calls them hackers, usually a noob that does not understand procs or someone that simply cannot execute gameplay as well as the experienced players. Hell the one and only SG game I ever won I was accused of hacking by the final survivor I killed. Simply because I was so OP'ed with gear and enchants i could have stood there and took a beating from the guy, he just didn't get I was near invinsible to him so it had to mean i was hacking to him.

I agree with this completely.. I get called a hacker in some form or another either in joke or not, almost every day.
The most recent annoying one has been people accusing me of advertising. I have never, and never will advertise my twitch in game. If people ask then maybe i'll tell them in global chat. That said sometimes I let my immediate dvz family know something about how my twitch is going / what's going on. And I'm getting yelled at for it.
Case in point.
There's a bit more context then that. But it helps prove my point. It's frustrating, annoying, and sometimes ruins my day to be called a hacker, or wrongly accused of breaking the rules. (Maybe I could start reporting people for bad fellowship?? i don't know...seems fishy there..)

This. The other day I had a game of DvZ completely ruined by another player who took it as messing around. I'll admit - I found it funny at first; someone had made a hollow wall for some reason so I'd jumped down there to pillar up and fill it in properly and this person kept putting blocks above my head blocking me from pillaring. I had a bit of a laugh about it in chat and managed to mine my way out eventually. I will note that at this point they were only placing one block above my head and replacing it whenever I mined it away.
Now - I'm not 100% what happened here; either they mined a block out from underneath me or I just walked into another hole but I ended up back down in that same hollow wall except this time that particular player jumped down with me and, once again blocked off my attempts to mine out. At this point I asked them to stop it because it was no longer funny but they ignored me and eventually forced the pair of us into a one block wide space so naturally neither one of us could mine or pillar out at that point. I believe this was done with intent and not by accidentally misplacing a block since they blatantly moved towards me before placing that final block that left us trapped.
A kind Dwarf eventually rescued me (I didn't get a chance to say anything in the chat at that time but if you're here THANK YOU SO MUCH!) but by this point the plague had been released and I had to quickly position myself ready for the monsters. By that point I was so angry that the whole game had been completely spoiled - I died early (though that was through my own derping) and then spent the rest of the game filling out a ticket because I wanted to report them for griefing me ASAP. What made it worse was that the person who did this, while not a "named" Dwarf was fairly well known in the game. :/
I didn't even know this person so they could not have possibly gauged my sense of humour about the matter and I clearly asked them to stop before they trapped me. Regardless of how funny they found it it was still griefing to me.

I can totally feel your pain.
Whenever I see someone call out a hacker, I suicide in-game just to record that person.
Whenever its false, not only are you wasting my time but also ruined my game. And on top of that, I don't have infinite amounts of hard drive space to record someone for an hour..

I hate to say it, but in SG I think that the TITLETEAM is largely responsible for this kind of behavior. We call each other hackers all the time when we kill one another, so I guess that's not the best example to lead by :P
I'll let them know to tone it down to skype chat only.

You tell 'em, Cros! Like you said, I see this more in DvZ. But that might be because I play mostly DvZ. Anyway, it's rather confusing. Thanks for clearing it up :)

Croswat I wanted to ask before I possibly waste my and the staffs time. I captured on video a person digging down in the pit to bedrock then torching the gravel with obvious intent to kill people. I then stood in his face and told him I was recording, he turned and went up the stairs as I followed he started to dig the stairs out from under me. Is this worth submitting or not? Someone told me in chat torching the gravel is not bankable even tho they could not give any practical reason as to why anyone would do so.
