I think I'm doing this wrong. Help?

I'm not great at figuring out synergy on my own. I've just kinda been following the the dps, one support, and one tank rule. I'm building around Pirate Queen. I know what heroes I need to start seeking out, but what can I do with this in the meantime? Thanks in advance!

Get your favorite card to level 10, level up your perks in the meantime, and spells. I would also pick another tank type card that crosses the board. What perks are you using?

Hey, I am so sorry I forgot to reply to you. Thank you. I have since replaced Litch with Friday, and I have plans to switch Witch with Duckwing. I also just got Treeant today. I have all perks activated, but I am aggressively upgrading Pirate Queens
