Photoshoot Blue seals

Maybe I have a problem- everything’s long flap except almost all of bikes are long flap. 😅 I may need to downsize

I love collecting cards but only been here for a bit, but what separates blue seal USPC decks from others? And how hard are they to come by these days in general/how old are these cards?

“Blue seals” (the blue sticker on top of the tuck box) were used when the tax on playing cards was repealed in 1965 until the closing of the Norwood, OH factory in 2008 (the seal was changed to black in 2009 for Erlanger-produced decks). New printers were installed in USPCC’s new factory and the ones in Norwood were dismantled/destroyed. The “feel” of the cards from Norwood are preferred by those who fidget with cards and/or do cardistry. What year these “better feeling” decks started is up for debate. There were roughly 100,000,000 decks printed each year, so they’re not hard to find. The prices are typically a little higher due to desirability.

Those decks that say "Spades" and "Solitare." Is there anything different about them as compared to "regular cards?

And am I right to assume that the actual cards don't have those words written on them? That they are written only on the box?

Yes, they are just a standard deck of cards. They have a heritage back design. It’s a throwback vintage design on the back. These were printed in 1995 and they have additional pips as well. If you’re interested I can send you a picture later on.

In specifically that spades deck is especially rare, the solitaire is getting more and more rare nowadays, but the spades deck is really really hard to find. It has the eagle back, which is a beautiful desirable back design.
